For two people it’s definitely a tight squeeze but it can work, as long as you’re ok being very close and cozy. As a one man tent this thing is amazing, plenty of head room and room to change. The stuffsack design is a bit weird because the cord is too low if you want to divide the polls from the actual tent amd compress the sac. The octogonal shape is genius and alows for lots of gear to be stored under the vestibules. The large mesh pocket up top is great. I used it for lightweight items such as down jacket, gloves, hat, etc. The BA SLX double floor pad fits well in this guy as well. My only wishes would be if it were under 3 lbs and a larger stuff sack, but for the price it’s outstanding.
Very spacious for a backpacking tent and very comfortable for 2 people if you leave your packs in the vestibules. It's pretty lightweight and packs up nicely. I spent several nights in rainy and high wind conditions in this tent. It's held up very well and I've stayed dry. Little features that I like include the light distribution pockets, the hanging storage, and the zipper design.
Fast and easy set up. Top shelf materials and construction. Perfect for one but you can squeeze two if needed. I have a 6’ 6’’ W.M. Badger that has an inch of clearance at both head and foot. I have just enough Width left at the head for my pack and gear. Head and shoulder room is enormous for sitting up and changing. I’m 6’ 1’’ and very comfortable in this tent.
I wanted a lightweight tent that was also spacious enough for 1-2 ppl. I did not like the idea of using my hiking poles and I wanted protection from the elements. That’s why I went with the Nemo Dragonfly. Great tent, love the open sky view and “no see um” bed as well as the storage loft and headlamp areas. The entire system is solid and super lightweight. Stayed warm in colder windy weather yet very breathable and ventilated with the rain fly. Solid zippers. If you’re sleeping two that are over 6’ tall or over 225# things might get a bit tight but two average sized ppl will do just fine. Side note: while at altitude, I happened to fall right on top of my friends Dragonfly and unfortunately cracked one of the poles. We were able to safely rig it to support the tent with some duct tape and finished our adventure. When contacting customer support/repairs, I also had a great experience. Since this was a pricy tent I was afraid of what the cost might be. I was pleasantly surprised to replace the pole was only $5! plus an $8 shipping fee for a special container not to get damaged—yay! The whole process took about 6-7 wks during Covid time. That was the only potential bad thing if you need repairs faster.
Great new tent from Nemo. Used Nemo Dagger 2 for many years and loved it, but used it so much it was starting to wear. Decided to try the Dragonfly 2 due to the drop in weight. Tried it out on a trip down to New Mexico and I am very happy with my choice. It is very similar to the Dagger. The set up is almost identical. There is a little more space in the vestibules but just a little less in the tent. Still plenty of room for 2. Lots more pocket space on the inside and I love the built-in ceiling pocket. Seems to be a little easier to get in and out of with the slightly different rainfly design. The weight of my tent as I carried it was almost exactly 3lbs. Pretty good for a 2 person, free-standing, double wall tent, in a bag with stakes. No complaints so far.
I needed a little more room than my old 1P tent with the addition of my new trail buddy – and the Dragonfly 2P fits the bill perfectly. Light to carry, easy to set up, and the right amount of room for us both to chill and sleep. I'm a fan of the two doors, star-gazing mesh, and the abundance of headroom. I ended up getting the Aurora Pawprint as an extra layer of protection on the tent floor from my pup's paws. Although I'd love a dragonfly specific pawprint, I don't mind making it work for the sake of protecting my gear. My first impressions are that the super lightweight materials would be fragile, but the more I use the tent, the more confident I am that this thing will last. I love calling this tent "home" when we're backpacking or road tripping and finding some makeshift car camping spots. And my dog seems to agree :)
I was looking for a solo tent. The Dragonfly 1 is only a few ounces lighter than the Dragonfly 2 which I purchased. My first outing was marvelous. It is easy to set up, everything needed is included (except on stake for the guy on the fly by the head- increased air circulation), fly is taut, good ventilation, keeps water out well, huge vestibules, useful storage loft and pockets- I didn't find anything that could have been done differently. A bonus is the multiple tie-down loops for wind protection. A second bonus is the bright reflective tape- no more walking into the guy lines at night. It would be tight as a two-person tent but not unlivable. It is paradise for solo!!
I bought this last year and I love it! Easy to set up, my 2 sleeping pads and double sleeping bags fit perfectly. It’s light and not big. Fits perfectly into my backpack when I go hiking
This tent has it all! It's super lightweight, most importantly, but doesn't sacrifice the creature comforts which make camping in the wilderness enjoyable. It's very easy to set up and is stable with or without stakes. Went camping recently with a very tall friend (6'6) and we both fit in comfortably, albeit oriented head-to-toe (I'm 6'0) and our stuff resting outside the tent in the rainfly vestibules. Love the ability to split the weight between two people. Kept us sheltered from freezing rain and had a fair bit of condensation on the fly, but it dried very quickly in the sun. I have another heavier tent but this one is so good that I don't know that I'll ever use that one again.
Used this tent on cross-country motorcycle trip across USA on dirt roads. Weight, pack size, and vestibule area were my main deciding factors. It was super easy to set up, and loved the extra space in the vestibule for my boots. It was the perfect size for a solo rider. I could get all my riding gear in the tent with me, which took up one space. I loved the roof shelf -- threw a light up there and illuminated the whole tent. The corner pockets were handy too. Packing the poles separately really makes the packed up tent very small. This tent is very well ventilated, and I had no problems with condensation. For windy rain storms, head placement is important, because the rain fly is quite high on the head end. There is so much mesh that having head into wind will bring in a certain amount of spray. Side or foot facing the wind would be best, as the fly extends down to the ground. Careful of the floor! A footprint is mandatory. On my first night, camped on grass, which amazingly made a few small holes. Used footprint every time afterwards, and no further holes after 15 nights.
