We've had this tent for about a year now, it's holding up great. We use the xped duo lw+ in it and there's still room around the edges. Both my husband and I fit very comfortably. It's actually waterproof-- rainfly keeps the rain out and helps with humidity too for those damp forest areas. And I especially love that it doesn't contain harmful chemicals and doesn't smell weird.
I used the Aurora for a full week during a hot and humid summer camp in Japan, and it held up great. It definitely got a bit warm inside with the rain fly on (we had to keep it on for coed camping at scout camp), but without it, it definitely would’ve been much cooler. The build quality is impressive, especially the rain fly, which feels thick and durable (in a good way). We didn’t get any rain, but I’m confident it would handle a storm well. It was roomy and comfortable, with plenty of space to move around and store gear. The vestibules created by the rain fly provide additional usable space. Overall, it’s a solid summer tent I’d happily use again.
I have taken the Aurora 3P on three backpacking trips so far. The tent is lightweight and easy to divide between two or three people. It is a simple design without a lot of extra features, which helps to keep the weight down. The tent is very simple to set up and take down. I ended up buying a few more stakes to utilize all the guy points. The interior has a little extra room above your head and at your feet, but it is recommended you check out all your sleeping pads before hitting the trail to make sure they fit the width (three Wide pads won’t fit). I’m very happy with my Aurora 3P and will soon invest in an Aurora 2P.
Nothing too crazy, standard tent that set up very quickly and easily. Quite a few stash pockets. Cool ceiling pocket to place your headlamp in and have more light. Rain fly fits nicely and held up during a small storm in the woods. Had plenty of sticks and pinecones sound like they were beating up the tent during the storm and it held up perfectly! Standard 3P tent that would definitely not hold 3 people
After much research, I decided to buy this tent. First time I used, I was amazed by it's size. It's so roomy. I could fit so much inside. And it was easy to set up. However, I was surprised how the net material felt a little cheap, for such a well known brand.First time went well. The second night I was hit by a wind storm so strong that capsized the tent with me, my dog, and all my stuff inside, tossing us onto the bushes. The tent was attached to poles and two rocks, and yet, couldn't resist the wind. After the wind calmed down, the tent was pretty damaged. So many tears and rips. I'm sending the tent to Nemo to see if they can repair it and hope they can. I really like the space in it.
I just got this in the mail, I set it up the first night and I love the amount of room. Theres enough for me and one other without being squished together. It has such an easy set up as well. This tents rainfly has vents on two sides of the tents that make sense. The vestibule space is very large. I like that the pockets are on the sides as sometimes in other tents the pockets on the ceiling allow stuff to fall out, I do love the nightlight pocket though. Very nice spot for a headlamp. This tent will be very nice for cozy trips and light enough to hike out with.
With our kiddo now nearly a full-sized human, it was time for our fam to upgrade from a 2p tent. I chose the Aurora for its headroom and packability, and was thrilled! It fit our 3 sleeping pads easily, the stow pockets are perfectly placed and big enough, and since we're all under 6ft tall, both of our dogs had plenty of space to sleep at our feet. I experienced no claustrophobic-family-tent-rage, which is a huge win. On its maiden voyage, I set it up in 4 minutes alone, without even having read the instructions. Super intuitive. It spent one night in the rain (nailed it!), and had a couple of dry nights following. We're really pleased with our Aurora. Oh - and if you're reading older reviews mentioning a single one-way zipper on the doors, don't worry! This has been updated and the zippers are great.
My first trip in this tent we got hail, sleet, heavy rain, and high winds- this tent weathered all of it better than I could have imagined. Others in my group had water infiltration and structural stability issues with their respective tents given the high winds, and this Aurora took the beating like a champ. When we packed the tent out after 8 hours of continuous rain the ground was still bone dry under the ground cloth. I couldn’t be happier with how it performed.
This would be a great tent except that it doesn't block no-see-ums. We tried this tent on two trips and were covered in no-see-um bites both times. On the second trip, we used our bug tent to cover the Aurora tent just to try to keep them out. This tent would have been a great addition--easy to set up, spacious, good pockets, good fly coverage. With such poor mesh, we had terrible sleeps, bites for weeks, and won't be taking it out again.
This tent offers impressive spaciousness, and its durable material provides a sturdier construction compared to traditional backpacking tents. While the zipper requires some adjustment, the door design enhances accessibility. Setting up the tent initially posed a challenge, as I am accustomed to the Jake’s foot system. Upon reviewing the instructions, I found myself wishing it followed that more intuitive setup method.
