Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible video Our Sorella cycling team was guv n the opportunity to use this camera for the season. I absolutely love this camera! I have a GoPro and the Cycliq has way much better video and range of shot! Super impressed with the quality of video and sound. It is also much easier to use. The GoPro neve seems to fit on my bike or my person at an angle that get good quality video. This small camera a is very easy to use. I find myself not using the GoPro and using the Cycliq for that reason. I have had issues with individuals on the mountain bike trail and I love the feeling of safety this concealed video gives me. I want the 12 after using the 6!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5.0 out of 5 starsUseful, well made Rear Light/Cam Hi I'm a Sorella Cycling team member enjoying playing with the Fly6! Super easy to set up, affix, and use right out of the box, after a full charging. The 3 stretchy straps hold it very secure and at a good angle. I like that it records on a loop, so I can just take footage off if it's been a special event or a problem/close call I want to document. Nice flash settings on the light to conserve the battery and also enhance visibility. Viewing the footage on a Mac was a bit hit or miss at first, using a combo of software to view, edit and convert, but then I discovered iSkysoft iMedia Converter software which has made it very easy to get clips to post to Facebook or YouTube or whatever. Our club Sorella Cycling is using them to showcase events, races, and generally feel safer riding in Atlanta traffic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two birds with one stone Got my Fly 6 today and used it for the first time. I was doing a race reconnaissance with my Hagens Berman | Supermint teammates and thought that I'd use the footage to look back on the course, but instead I just spent the entire afternoon making a 'bloopers' trailer of all the things my teammates had done and caught it all in 1080p res! Of course it's main purpose is for safety, both to 'be seen' and to 'see', capturing anything that silly drivers might do while your out on the road. And if I ever decide to wake up before the sun comes up it'll be a saviour! Love the Fly 6, can't wait to get the Fly 12 so that I can download it straight to my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 Hours of Video on a Single Charge; Fun to Use. I love my FLY6! What a perfect video camera for the rear of the bike. It attaches securely to the seat post with the enclosed Velcro strap (see photo) and provides excellent video protection as demonstrated in the video link below. The unit does not slip or slide on the seat post because both the inside of the strap and the portion of the unit that touches the seat post are made of rubber. I have ridden fast over rough roads here in LA and it did not move. But the biggest, biggest selling point of this camera over all other cameras is that it records at least 6 hours! of continuous video on a single charge. (Without the light mode on.) I have tested it multiple times. I have been using mine for more than 3 months with no reduction in battery life. Hope that power availability continues? The unit has an indicator to tell you how much battery life is left for your ride when you either turn it on or off. What this means is that most people can record their entire ride of 6 hours or less on one charge. Basically set it on, and forget it—that is what I do. But, if you leave the bike sitting still for too long, like I do when I go into a restaurant—It will automatically turn off to conserve battery power. So when you get back out, make sure to put it back on or remember to turn it off. It never turns off when you are riding or even short stops for bathroom. I charge the unit by connecting it via USB either to my computer or directly to a power outlet. The indicator light tells you when it’s fully charged. When I connect to my windows 10 computer, the file folder containing my ride videos automatically comes up—windows recognizes it. Each video is date and time stamped and is in 10-minute increments. If you install a 32 GB micro card like I did, none of your videos for up to 10 hours or more of riding will be over-written. So if something happens during your ride, you don’t have to worry about losing it before you return home. Open the folder, find the 10-minute video segment, and cut and past it to your computer hard drive. Easy as can be. The unit comes beautifully packaged with USB cord and instructions. Set up is as easy as setting the time, charging it, and putting it on the bike. The unit and its connector appear to be high quality. A tight rubber strip protects the slot for the connector and memory card. Another advantage of this camera is that it is also a rear steady or flashing light—extremely bright, multiple settings, so that if you get caught out at night-just turn it on. The light usage will decrease battery life. Keep in mind that your original video on your FLY6 will be clearer than my upload sample due to upload quality restrictions. My originals are clear enough to read license plates provided there is enough light. Thank you to REI for carrying this product. This is an important safety tool for cyclists. I would not have purchased this type of new technology from any other source that does not have a lengthy return period.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great until it stops working I bought 2. Both worked great for about 6 months. Then one started shutting off unexpectedly. Eventually both shut of after 10 minutes, although the batteries are more than sufficient to record 3+ hours by restarting the cameras every 10 minutes. Cycliq support is inane, asking the same question several times, and requiring all sorts of jumping through hoops before they instruct you to "send the units to us in Australia for evaluation." And get this, they state that if you don't have the original 8gb SD card then you are out of luck, no warranty whatsoever on a $170 device because of a missing $5 sd card. Fortunately I kept everything in the original box so I can return them to REI form a refund. The only practical warranty is the one you get via the REI one-year return policy. The manufacturer's warranty and support service is a joke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of mind while cycling I have used a Fly6 for over a year now. It brings piece of mind when riding road routes to know that any safety issues will be captured. A bonus is capturing something amusing or getting footage of fellow cyclists while on a group ride. The battery life is great. My only suggestion is to increase the size of the memory card as some rides last longer than the card capacity.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bricked These cameras are great as long as they work. The LEDs are bright and very visible, the video quality is excellent and the construction is robust. Unfortunately, they have a tendency to quit working after a few months. Mine lasted only 7 months, then died in the middle of a ride. Until the company resolves this issue, I can't recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good purchase - safety first! So far, so good. I've had it for a little more than 3 months and use it a few times each week, commuting and recreational road rides. Video and sound quality are fine, very bright light is noticeable during daylight.
