I bought Cygolite because most of their Hotshots come with a seat stay mount, and I ride with a Carradice seat bag. Alas, the seat stay mount is way too big for my classic bike. There are multiple circumventions, but Cateye makes a mount that works for their lights on classic bikes. This is a fine light, very bright, with good options for flashing, etc. Some people say it's too bright from group rides. They recommend tilting the light down a bit, and that's a good recommendation for riding on MUPS, too.
This light is super bright! I tested it out at my desk as soon as it arrived. It charged pretty fast. Unfortunately, I am only giving 4 stars because it fell off on the very first ride. Sad to lose a new light so fast! Would love to see an update with a better mechanism for attaching it to the bike.
I’ve run this light for years on both road & gravel. It’s bright, simple to use, long lasting, perfect for my needs. I purchased additional mounts for all six of my road & gravel bikes so I can pop the light on and go. When it dies (if it dies) I’ll replace it with the same thing straightaway.
Rubber gasket that is supposed to protect the charging port fell off. Water and dirt did the rest. I got about 2 years of good use so two stars but this is a design flaw that should be addressed. This appears to be a not uncommon issue per reviews from other sites.
I just bought this ligjt aboit two weeks ago. Been on aboit 7 rides. Today I was mtn biking and a biker stopped me to see if I lost a ligjt. The plastic is cheap easily breaks. And the silicon mount was still on my bike. I didn’t crash or anything. Save yourself your money for a quality light.
