Rated 4 out of 5 by from great potential for the right wearer These are great hiking shoes, and are lightweight. Pretty water resistant, and they breathe well. Nice color also. For someone with a narrow heel, these fit great back there ( originally I wanted Solomon shoes, but those heels are too wide, so I settled for the Merrells). They are true to size. Unfortunately these shoes are not for me, as I have 'wide toes'. My toes are pretty sensitive, and I felt like they were hitting and rubbing everywhere in the toe box. Sadly, I need to return them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Walked a mile Actually, I've walked lots of miles---comfortably. I just spent a week and a half in southern Utah and wore these every day: on rocks, on sandy trails, in mud, up and down and just sitting in the car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Miles Purchased after reviewing online. Replacing low cut Moab. So comfortable right out of the box did not need to break in. Great shoe even with high arches.

I need a flexible sole.  Since most hiking shoes tend to be stiff, can you tell me how close to natural barefoot movement can be expected with this shoe?

Asked by: Nana
This shoe does not have a natural or barefoot feel. They do offer quite a bit of stability, but are not a minimalist shoe.
