Good but not great
I have been wearing Chaco for four years so I was excited to try out those new sandal-shoes. I bought them for the upcoming Spring season...for kayaking trips and short outdoor hikes. They are super comfortable and easy to slip on (I have a very high arch, so I do have to bend over and actually pull them on, however). Also, I typically wear a size 9.5 but they were too big but the 9 fit perfectly. The reason I am giving them four stars is because I haven't even got them wet and my are beginning to smell when I remove them after three wears. I am a Chaco fan and like the style of the shoe, I just wish they were slightly more breathable.
So Happy With This Purchase!
I was hesitant to buy these before a canoe trip in Voyageurs NP last summer but was running out of other options, my normal sandals having fallen apart shortly before the trip. I bought them and only wore them around the house & in the car the day before the trip to try to break them. I had a feeling I was going to regret not having more time to do so but it turned out great. My feet were comfortable the whole trip! Both for hikes while portaging and in the boat itself, they were exactly what I had been looking for. I took them off and let them dry in the sun in the boat on longer days when the waters were calm. They take a little longer to dry than is ideal, but even so are comfortable when damp and I had no problems! Very happy with them.
Great water shoes
I bought these shoes mainly for boating. I found they are great for beach walking too. I have found the material the shoes are made of does have a strong odor after they get wet. I am thinking of adding some cornstarch to the shoe bed to see if that helps.
Really wanted to love these but too narrow
I did research and love my Chaco sandels so thought these would be perfect for the summer and traveling. However, even with the instructions to loosen the straps, they are still too narrow and my foot looks awful and does not feel comfortable. I don't typically have to order Wide sizes so this was unusual, my feet are not that wide. Back they go...
Great looking and great quality
I received these right before a trip. I walked the length of Atlanta airport in them, and they were comfortable. Then I wore them white water rafting on the Chattooga River. They gripped the rocks well. They are adjustable so you can have them casual while just hanging out, or tighter if you need them for an activity. I also got many compliments on them.
Great fit and support'
I purchased these as my second pair of shoes to wear on my Camino this coming August. I have been healing from plantar fasciitis and my podiatrist suggested Chacos because of their flexibility and support. Well, I'm "breaking" these in and really they already feel like a dream. They are lightweight, versatile and have given me the support I need.
What a surprise
I purchased these shoes over a year ago because they were on clearance. I liked the purple color and the price was right. I was more than surprised with the comfort of these shoes-I've worn them along the beaches in Puerto Vallarta as well as jaunts around many towns. Recently I have been looking for ways to wear them at work where I am an NP in a busy clinic. The bonus is the adjustable strap- perfect for the one foot with a bunion.
Very comfortable
I needed a light weight walking/hiking shoe and this shoe has worked very well so far. As with many Chaco shoes/sandals many adjustments can be made. I have a narrow heel and can tighten the various straps so the shoe doesn't slip on my heel while still being comfortable for the rest of my foot.
A great water and rock hopping shoe
I bought these shoes for a trip to Hawaii and they were the perfect shoe for muddy hikes. I felt more secure on wet and muddy rocks than in my Merrill hiking shoes, which I love--it's just that the Chacos allowed my toes to grip and curve on uneven surfaces better. I imagine these will also be great for water trips.
from water to land, these will get it done!
I bought these Chacos for a trip to the Grand Canyon and A Havasupai adventure. These water hikers were EXACTLY what I needed. They took me from dry land to water and back out. The were comfortable, fit perfectly with no socks and no blisters. I love the no-tie drawstring closure/tightening. They stayed on perfectly in the ocean while riding waves, too! An all around YES!!!
