I bought these pants for summer hiking, and I couldn't be more pleased with them. They are super light, quick-drying, and comfortable. The fit is also very flattering, unlike a vast majority of women's hiking pants. So far I've found them to be very durable. The first time I wore them, I accidentally walked right into a thicket of blackberry, and the thorns snagged my clothing from head to toe. I was completely shocked to find that there were no holes or pulled threads on the pants. My only complaint is the choice of colours. I would really like to see a classic beige (the "frost" is a little to light), or a navy blue.
i love these pants. i am short waisted and these pants are actually sitting in just the right place. i would like a bit more room thru thru thighs, but with that said, they are not too tight, i just like a little looser fit. they stretch really well. the knees are perfect. the sweat dries well and they fit under my rain pants like a dream. i would really like a deeper back pocket and front pocket as well. having security about my knife falling out etc. would be nice. i love the side pockets and easy accessibility for a snack. they are so comfortable that i never feel desperate to take them off after a long day.
I've cycled through many different brands of hiking pants that were always too baggy, hot or generally uncomfortable. The customer service rep was very helpful in determining my needs and size. She recommended this style and another one ( can't recall). I bought two different sizes (4 and 6) in both pants I'm 5'3 and 108 lbs and the Parapet 4s fit perfectly. Although I didn't want to spend this amount of money on hiking pants, it was totally worth it. These are comfortable, slim-fitting and I like the pockets. The pants don't flop around in heavy wind and fit perfectly under rain pants. Highly recommend.
I bought these pants for an upcoming trip to Africa. I needed pants that would be suitable for the spring weather in Cape Town to the sweltering 35'C heat in Zimbabwe and Botswana. The test drive has been very positive and I think they will serve me well on hot dusty game drives. They are light weight, breathable, stretchy and dry fast. I have the previous model of Parapets. I find the updated version more slim fitting in the waist and legs but I prefer that anyway . For reference, I am 5'2", 116lbs and muscular. Ladies who found that the older model fit well might consider sizing up.
I wore these for the first time during hikes in the great smokey mountains. I am a heavy sweater and was quite surprised that my sweat did not show through the pants. The pants are light, comfortable and not suffocating. I loved them so much I ordered a second pair when I returned home from my hiking trip.
I love these pants. They fit well and are perfect for traveling. I can wear them over and over and they hold their shape. It is no problem to hand wash them as they easily dry overnight. No problem if you are caught in the rain, they dry so fast you hardly have time to get cold. My only complaint is the back pockets. They are not useful because they are too small and also there is no way to secure them. It would be nice to have a flap or a zipper. Also, the small pleat is not very flattering. If the back pockets were more functional these pants would be absolutely perfect!
I was excited when I first tried them on. I tried on a size 6, which was too tight, but I figured I just needed a larger size. So I tried on the 8 - and it was too big. On top of that the length didn't seem right - it pulls right at the top of the legs / bottom of the crotch area. You can even see it slightly on the model. There is a crease right in that area. Needless to say, I was bummed because other than that, the material and style were nice. If you can get the fit right, I would say it's a good purchase. Btw - for comparison, I tried on another style of pant that was the S,M,L sizing and I wore a small, so maybe the sizing is a bit off on this pant? I typically wear a 4 in Prana, and a 6 in MEC and most other brands.
I love these pants, they are super lightweight and comfortable for those hot days. The pale gray color is nice and they are a flattering fit. Very happy with these.
I had the previous version of these pants (forget the name) and this version fits much better, more roomier for those of us with curves. Delighted they now come in various lengths as well, no more hemming! Purchased 2 pairs right away. The capris tend to be a bit bigger around the waist in the same size, and not worth sending back, I'll use a belt. Looking forward to wearing these all hiking season! My only wish is they would come in other colours such as a khaki and a chocolate brown as the previous version did.
I got these pants for hiking. But I think I will wear them for lots of things. Very comfortable I love all the pockets, the gusseted crotch, and the length! I was able to order them with a 35" inseam. I normally buy jeans with 34" inseam so though I may have to get them hemmed but they are good. The 32" inseam I tried in the store looked like flood pants on me wayyy to short.
