Sizing notes

SHORT INSEAM: 29 inches on all waist sizes. REGULAR INSEAM: 31 inches on all waist sizes. LONG INSEAM: 35 inches on all waist sizes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor design: 12 inch inseam short is too long I have the regular stretch zions for four years and love them. I wear them everywhere--around town, working in the yard, camping, hiking, fishing--you name it! I bought the convertibles with high hopes, but ultimately hated the fit. The 12 inch inseam is way too long for a pair of short IMO. For hiking you want the short to hit right above the knee for maximum comfort and mobility. The seam on these convertibles hits a couple inches below my knee, which I find very uncomfortable. Even when they're zipped together the seam snags on the knee when you articulate, bending down for example. As soon as they make a 10'' inseam version of these, I'll buy two! Until then, hard pass.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Convertible zipper in exactly the wrong position I have three pairs of Prana's Brion pants (made out of the same Stretch Zion material), along with two pairs of the Zion shorts, and I love them both. The Brion in particular is the best pant I've ever owned. So I was prepared to love these. Unfortunately, though, the zipper fell precisely across the middle of my knee cap (I'm 6'4" 34/34), making them impossibly annoying to wear both as pants and shorts. If they'd designed the top half with a 9" inseam instead of 11" these would probably be my favorite pants, instead they're getting returned.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible fit As pants, they are the most comfortable pair I've ever worn. The stretchiness is great for mobility and they are practically waterproof. The smallest inseam these pants come in is 30" which is an inch longer than I usually buy. This wasn't an issue until I zipped them off into shorts. They land far below my knee. They felt more like baggy capris. To have them sit just above my knee I would have to cut off about 4 1/2" from where they zip off. Even if I was able to buy 28" inseam pants, the shorts would still be way too long. As pants: great. As shorts: terrible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I just received these, so I haven't tested them out on the trail yet. I had purchased the non-convertible version and loved the way they fit so I got these as well. The material is a little stretchy, and is thicker than the windbreaker-type stuff I like to avoid. I am 6'1" and about 185 pounds and bought the 34" waist and 32" inseam. When converted to shorts, they are a little longer than I would have preferred, but it does not hinder movement. The built-in belt is a nice touch as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best zip-offs I've worn Worn them twice so far - once just the shorts and once hiking with the pant legs on. Great material and great fit. 6'3" 180 Sz 32x34. On the slim side but not "skinny jean" fit. Material is light, stretchy yet durable. Pockets are as close to stealth pockets as you get on cargo's - something I apprecIte very much. I read others complain about the length of the shorts (12" inseam") but for me the shorts are the perfect length, sitting at the very top of the knee while standing. I could run in these if I wanted with no discomfort. Paid $43

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesomeness Bes Boats I've ever owned. Look good enough to pass as khakis, then zip off the leg and go hike. The water/stain resistance is great and the stretchiness makes them uber comfy. I have 2 pair and am ordering a third.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice pants I think these will be really sturdy! Nice construction and they allow great articulation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long wearing comfortable travel pants I wore these most of the time while in Patagonia for 3 weeks. Great comfort for hiking, airplane travel and out for dinner. Looked great even without washing. I will add that the convertible pants are roomier than the non convertible pants. One hassle is the zip off legs zippers are awkward. Otherwise just plain great pants.

how can I be sure about what size get if I need 33 waist 30 inseam, do I have to order size 32 or 34

Asked by: raul sd
According to prAna, you should measure where you like your pants to sit on your waist, then subtract 2" from your measurement to determine your size.
