Do not buy. They ruined these pants so bad they had to launch a “new” line to get away from the reviews and customer experiences. These used to be the best bar none outdoor / work pants around. Prana changed the material to something cheaper and lower quality. I have an older pair in gray that have held up great through years of hard use. The pictured slate green pair are heavily pilled and buttonless after light use in half the time. I’ve been a prana pro for a long time and won’t buy another pair unless quality assurances are made on new pants.
Pant sizing is spot on. Material is very rugged and more durable than a lot of other comparable pants out there. The built-in cinch is nice; no need for a belt. There are 3 little vents on each side of the inner leg area that were surprisingly very nice to have. The side cargo pocket felt alittle low, but doesn’t cause any issues. These are my new go-to pants! I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
I have been wearing these pants regularly for the past week and a half. They look nice enough to wear to work but are comfortable and stretchy enough to recreate in afterwork. I have hiked and climbed in these as well as responded on mountain rescue calls. They are great in all scenarios and types of weather. I'm a one pant for everything kind of guy. I don't like having to go home to change when leaving the office to going on a rescue call. They are breathable and durable and fit me perfectly. I'm 5'10" 204lbs and typically wear a 33/34 waist and a 30/32 inseam. the 34x30s fit me well. A couple things I noticed is that they seem to ride in the crotch when sitting and the material around the calves feels a bit billowy and also rides up when sitting, revealing some ankle which could be a problem if modesty is your thing... Jokes aside they are great pants! I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
Quality of pants became horrible: recycle nylon usage ruined the fabric, attempt to make profit margin higher by cutting cost to replace metal button for plastic button is also horrible decision. Original quality of product is gone, new pants have inferior quality.
Bought these a little less than a month ago. On the second hike the main button broke off the rivet. There was not excessive pressure on the button, it just popped off. Otherwise the pants were great fit and the material was perfect.
These Stretch Zion Pants are still my favorite, but they are not quite the Original as advertised, the color is a bit off and the fabric feel a bit flimsy.
I’ve been wearing Stretch Zions for years. I’m 5’6 and I wear 32/30. They’re comfortable, easy to maintain, light but durable, and I especially like Iron and Mud shades among the variety of available colors. I am comfortable when the occasion calls for it to wear a sport coat over these pants and secure that will always handle rugged work. They feature details that I often use: a zipped/looped key pocket, external waist feature to tighten waist as needed, and a reasonably functional external cellphone pocket. These pants are the equal of or better than those of other manufacturers. Well worth the investment. You’ll have no regrets.
So I’m actually a 5’5” 130lb woman, size 4-6 (ish) in pants, and I’ve been on a quest to find pants that have pockets of a practical size that are sorta high-rise…and I found it in these pants! I tried the women’s version of these pants (the Halle i believe) and those were too tight around the thighs and were a bit too low-rise for my liking. I wear a slim fit 28/32 in these men’s pants. I tried a few larger ones on in-store but they were baggy around the waist. I had a small issue with pilling fabric, possibly from sitting on something scratchy, but it’s not enough to trouble me to send them to warranty so I’m still happily wearing them.
Stretch nylon makes it super comfortable for just about anything and anywhere. Great for long plane trips where you appreciate the non-binding crotch. Would give it 5 star except for fact that only the right rear pocket features security. Like most righties I carry my wallet left side (left hand removes, right hand thumbs thru wallet) and because of low friction nylon my wallet kept slipping out, especially on bar stools. I now use a badge retractor to secure wallet to belt loop. Although left thigh pocket is good for many activities I would like to see another version of the pant sans cargo pocket.for most leisure and work activities
What works great for me about these pants is that they are absolutely not snug at all the thighs like virtually all other pants are, they're wide open without looking like portly pants on the outside. They also have a cut and a fabric that can fool you into thinking they're almost like dress pants vs. climbing pants vs. casual pants. I did experience some inconsistency in the waist sizing between colors; I ordered three pairs, dark grey, green, and coffee bean. The dark grey and greens both fit perfectly with a 33 waist for me, however the coffee beans I had to send back and get a 34, which seems to fit just like the 33 on the others.
