Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect belay/rappel carabiner I use this as my primary carabiner for belaying (with tube sytle or gri gri belay devices) and rappelling and have owned it for about 2 years. This carabiner is small enough that it stays in the correct orientation on my belay loop while belaying. There's no need to get a fancy, single-use carabiner to keep the carabiner oriented on the belay loop. For rappelling the ropes glide nicely through the pear shape in a symmetrical fashion. Very pleasant to use. As other reviewers mentioned it is definitely heavy for the size but since I only have one of these for belaying and rappelling I like that the added weight makes it feel sturdy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't get it. Bought my first one because it was small and cheap. Only got a second one because I wanted matching ones for top rope anchors. I probably will not use it for anything else. It's too small to work with. Gate doesn't open wide enough, making clove hitches very difficult and twist lock doesn't spin freely, making locking slow and time consuming. Also it's so fat that it doesn't work for clipping into tight bolt anchors. You could use it as a belay biner if you wanted a large round smooth feed. But that's about it in my opinion. For its small size it's extremely heavy and not even strong enough to make up for it. Get a Petzl Attache if you're looking for something comparable in size. Slightly more expensive, but well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only Round Stock These Days I was in search of a round stock locking carabiner for my Guide ATC, having an i-beam carabiner was seizing up the action for belaying and was not smooth. It's one of the few I can find in-store these days. Only complaint is it is small for a locker. The screw gate takes longer to lock down and others that I am use to, but that makes it a little safer in my opinion.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Heavy and small This carabiner is heavy for its size. Also, the screwgate takes more turns to open and close than is typical. Online buyers beware. I'm returning mine in favor of a black diamond rock lock (approximately the same weight but significantly larger) or a petzl attache 3d (approximately the same size but significantly lighter).
