excellent for most applications.

These are good all around carabiners. They are not for everybody though. I have seen many sport climbers struggling and heating these small carabiners. Although they are small they are as strong as the regular size. But in alpine climbing/Mountaineering where every single oz matters these are perfect. They are so easy to use even with gloves. Making extended quickdraws is not a problem raking up protective gear to the harness or pack is very simple. The uses of these carabiners can be so extensive. From camping to climbing, from backpacking to hiking. One can always find a use for them. The color selection is ok too.

Total life-saver

I was looking for a keychain with different color options for my mood. I can pick the color I want, clip it to my key ring, and I look totally hardcore when I park my Jeep with one tire up on the curb at the mall. The rest get clipped to my cams and slings for trad climbing. I like that they are compact on my rack, while retaining full strength of a standard sized carabiner.

A camping and hunting necessity

Use these small carabiners to haul gear via ropes into tree stands, tie down tents, clip onto a tarp's grommets, deer drag ropes, hang stuff on clothes lines, you name it.

Dozens of Outdoor Uses

The multi-pack is a good value. I prefer these to the Black Diamond equivalents because they are a tad smaller but the same strength, and the spring gates seem to operate a little more smoothly. This might be because they are not coated with black (nitride?) as Black Diamond is.

too small for most climbing purposes

Bought these a couple years ago for racking my cams. After using them for a while I have some solid opinions: 1) they are too small. I know, they are literally called “mini” carabiners. But there are other brands that also make mini carabiners and I prefer their take on it. The BD MiniWires and the Camp Nanos are the same weight and (roughly) the same size, but they function way better. Trying to get my cam off my harness when it’s racked on one of these guys is harder than when it’s racked on a BD/Camp mini carabiner. 2) gate clearance sucks. If you try to use them for alpine draws, good luck trying to get your rope out of it if you ever need to unclip. I think it’s due to the ratio between the massive nose size and the overall size of the carabiner. My thumb is literally bigger than the gate. 3) the nose is way too big. As I mentioned above, the nose is too big. The gate is small, the carabiner is small, and the nose is the same size as a full sized carabiner. It snags on everything. Overall, my thoughts are that these are great if you want them to rack more utility type items that you are not planning to use frequently. But if you plan to use them for racking cams (which they are color coordinated to do) or use as an alpine draw, I would recommend going with a different set of racking carabiners.

Bright, light, and useful

I didn't think I'd be a fan of the safety-pin style carabiner closure, but these have really been greta carabiners for all-around use (everything from actual climbing clip ins to utility attachments of gear etc.)

Work as advertised!

Work as advertised! Have a higher full axis load than other manufactures. Good for Ice anchor knots to allow knots to be untied. Also good for racking gear (smaller size than regular racking carabiners)
