compact, small, simple locker

It is remarkable that people are giving this bad reviews for being small. This is - by design - a very small full strength carabiner. It's size can be assessed by reading it's specs. It's like complaining that you fanny pack was too small for your over night backpacking trip, or your appetizer didn't fill you up.

Used for my PAS for 2+ years.

The other day I looked at the anchor I was attached to, it all came down to one point, this carabiner. I put the Metolius Bravo Locker my PAS over 2 years ago and haven't looked back, trusting it with my life every day. I figured I'd give 5 stars for doing its job exceptionally well. I'm alive right?

Excellent Binet

Small, light, and smooth screw gate. I use these for anchors, rappelling, and sometimes belaying with my GriGri. I’d recommend these over the BD Hot Forge equivalent because they don’t get stuck in the locked position as frequently after being weighted.

Carabiner for keys

I attach my car and house keys to a pants loop so they're always handy and the push button starter always works. I've been using carabiners designed for keys, etc. which never last and often fail to fully lock leading to keys on the floor or between seat cushions. This carabiner is solid with a definitive locking mechanism that can be easily and quickly engaged with one hand. It's not much bigger than the cheap "not for climbing" ones. I am delighted with my purchase.

Good quality compact locker

A nice compact locker with some benefits and drawbacks related to its size. I purchased two of these for the locker quickdraws I use to build top rope anchors. I clip these into the bolt hanger or chains and use two Edelrid bulletproofs for the rope side. Overall it’s been a solid setup, but for my use case I’m probably going to swap these out for larger carabiners. Due to the compact size/shape, the carabiner sits snugly and won’t move around much once it’s in position, which is great. However, I’ve found these to be a bit too small when clipping/unclipping on thicker chains or cleaning crowded anchors after a climb. A few times I’ve had trouble getting the gate to open/close fully without rotating it around a bit to make more room. Overall this carabiner is solid quality and the screw gate is smooth to operate. I plan on keeping mine around for back up and miscellaneous uses.

My new PAS biners.

I bought two to use as biners for my P.A.S. they're light, small, and have a narrow nose, making it easier to clip into bolts that are fairly loaded with gear. Needless to say, I have not died.

Alpine caving and canyoning locker

I have been "on rope" 32 years, professionally and recreationally. I like these carabiners alot for their lightweight and compact size. They are my choice for alpine rigging.

Metolius for the win

I’m a big BD fan 90% of all my gear is BD but Metolius is my go to for lockers, I just like the way they feel and I appreciate the solid black so I can keep my color scheme of black biner for rock end

Another great product from REI!

I liked the finish and the light weight so I chose this one over the others. After owning it for a few months, I am super happy with my choice. The finish is holding up great and the light weight is a big deal when you carry these all day. I will buy more for sure. Having a chance to put the product in your hand still makes all the difference., thanks REI for keeping stores open and stocked with knowledgeable help.

good locking mechanism

These are small and lightweight which is nice but the thing that really makes these awesome is how smoothly they open and unscrew compared to all the other carabiners I have. I went sport climbing with a friend who had several of these and picked up a couple for myself the next time I was at REI. I have used them outdoors 4 or 5 times since this year and I am still really liking them.
