Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disgusting As my at home taste-driving of pack meals continues, Backpacker's Pantry has been consistently disappointing. This meal proved to be another expensive disgusting waste of money. The flavor is what I can only imagine it would be like to eat vaguely curry flavored soap. Seriously, I think the folks at Backpacker's Pantry should try some actual Thai or Chinese before they put meals on the market appropriating Thai and Chinese dish names. I have a couple more meals from these folks still to try. I am already dreading the waste of money. Seriously, with several Backpacker's Pantry meals tried, my strongest recommendation is to avoid this brand entirely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pass on this one We have been trying different backpack foods and this was a mistake. Funny my husband thought it tasted like soap, then I read the only other review and it says the same thing. In any case we could barely choke it down. I contacted the company to see if they might send a couple other flavors of food to get back some loyalty (especially due to the price,) but they didn't even bother to get back to me. I'll stick with Mountain House after this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product I bought this for hiking the Pacific Crest Trail thinking it would be good to have some variety in my dinner diet. I love Thai food and hoped that this product would be tasty. It is one of the worst dinners I have ever eaten.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from it's a change Eaten on a three trip with my wife. We both agreed that it was neither coconut-y nor curry-y. In opposition to other reviews, we both thought it needed perhaps a half cup of water to be a truly proper texture. I though it was far too sweet. But it was very beefy, and made a nice change from egg noodles or rice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It was food I don't need to do this one again. I'd give it a single star but that would be REALLY bad. This was two stars worth, I ate it all. It wasn't any better at the end than at the beginning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gross - buy a different flavor I've tried my fair share of flavors and this one was plain gross. My distaste for this particular meal is beyond just a personal preference - I couldn't eat more than a couple bites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious coconut curry My husband and I thought this was a nice thai curry. The coconut added a creaminess that I really liked. Not spicy, but flavorful. Filling for two. I will buy this again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad, but I may not get it again It wasn't detestable, but I've had better. A bit too liquidy for me. It packed nice and light, and has good calories. But the taste wasn't what I expected I guess.

For the reviews who say this tastes like soap, could it be the cilantro? I understand cilantro has a soap-like taste to some people

That is a possibility.
