Novara Headwind Bike Pants

These are version 2.0 of the product. I have owned a pair of the first version for 4 years. They are my goto commuter bike pants. Perfect from 40 F to 20 F. Add Smartwool long underwear and I have been comfortable down to -20F. Wind resistance is excellent with wind proof fronts and breathable backs. I tried to replace them in 2014 because I snagged the right cuff in my drive train creating a small cut. Guess what is in Version 2.0? Reinforced right cuff to prevent this problem. On 1.0, I tucked the cuffs into my boots. In 2.0, I zip the cuffs over my boots. I prefer the fabric/finish on 1.0. I have not had these in sub zero temps, but they have worked fine to 20F. There is about 20 minutes of light rain resistance. I highly recommend these pants for winter riding and commuting.

Effective at Keeping You Warm, Very Comfortable

I thought I was going to have to buy bibs or something to find comfortable pants for winter biking - but these did the trick instead. The waistband is a flexible material (like the kind used on pricy underwear) and it's fantastic. With 1 pair of midweight smartwool leggings I was very comfortable at 25f. With 2 pairs of leggings I was very comfortable at 18f. (Haven't tried other temps yet). My only complaint is the lock of pockets. I couldn't believe I could find a pair of pants that I like for under $100 like this. These have been great.

WinterRiding

Pants were plenty warm enough and not bulky or binding at all. The material from the knee down does a great job with that muddy, rainy, snowy tire and chain splash and comes clean real easy. Awesome pants for bad weather yet breathable enough for riding in just cooler weather. I'm a little over weight and these still fit me and were comfortable and the draw string will cinch down as I lose weight.

Second time around

This is the second pair of these pants that I've owned. My first pair have held up to near daily use in the fall and winter, but they were starting to look a little worn out. Hence the second pair. The new pants have a little more give in the knees, and I will buy a third pair when I wear this pair out. Great pants.

Great cycling pants

The fit is great, I bought these primarily for riding my fat bike through the woods this winter. They have kept me warm and dry, when it gets colder I imagine my merino wool base layer will help. Will be good for the cool and damp spring weather on my road bike also,

No Pockets

Waist is a bit big for L size. Pull string lock is weak. And NO POCKETS- bad news. Otherwise I have ridden at 30* with a base layer, and are very comfortable THINK POCKETS!

Bike Pants

So far they are great, have only had the need to wear them once. They are light weight, & allow my legs to breath, while blocking the wind. As long as they keep it up, I'll wear them for a long time!!

Useless

Very strange design: while the front part material is quite water resistant, the back part material is not really. This includes also the saddle zone, where the leak is 100% guaranteed.

No, I do not recommend this product
