My water adventure muse!
Love, love this board! Spent a year researching everything on the market before purchasing my first sup board, and could not be happier about going with the Boardworks muse. The staff at REI were extremely helpful! Took it out on the lake as soon as I got home for over an hour and it was amazing. Works perfect with really choppy and calm water. As a first time SUP owner I highly recommend this board. It's as fun and functional as it is beautiful. Plus how can you not love the muse message and design on it.
awesome board
I bought this board 2 months ago and have used it in very choppy water and didn't fall off. If you knew me, you'd understand what a miracle that is. Also have used in calm water too, works great in either scenario. I bought the citrus color, absolutely love it. The weight was no problem to carry for me, I'm 5'7 and weigh about 160 lbs for reference. My kids have used it too (12 yrs and 10 yrs old) and they really enjoyed it, and no falling off there either. One last thing, the surface is nicely padded so kneeling wasn't uncomfortable on my knees. Very happy with my purchase, beautifully designed, light weight and very stable.
Beautiful, but still heavy for me
Only 24 pounds, much lighter than other paddleboards, but still too heavy for me, as i am used to surfboards. Would recommend buying a cart to wheel it. Finished is 9 inches, longer than I am used to, but perhaps that is what you need on a paddle board. Bought the teal color and it is SO beautiful. Rode incredibly smooth on the bay. Built in grip pads are very comfortable, my 2 year old daughter loved learning to surf on it as oposed to my surfboard's wax that had accidently rough sand melted in. Wish there was one or 2 more rigging hooks for trianglar formulation storage, instead of just 2 hooks where your strings just go straight across. Also wished it came with a small string to tie your velcro leash to. Not big things, I just bought small bungee cord for $3 and used string I found to fix my problem. But figured if I paid that much for a board, they can afford me some string and bungee cord!
Let the Muse Guide You
I bought the Muse sight-unseen at the end of summer. I'd never even been on a SUP before, but that didn't stop me from ordering this gorgeous board. The 10.5' size and low weight make this easier to carry than some of the beasts that are bigger. The Muse is easy to maneuver, quite stable for a board this size (we also bought a bigger BIC board that's more stable, but impossible to manage solo), and the overall balance of the board is good. The foot mat helps with fatigue, but I've had just as much fun sitting and kneeling on this board too. It makes me happy to look down and see such a beautiful piece of art plying the water. Any day it's lashed to my car for a water excursion is a good day indeed. I'm definitely a satisfied customer!
Love this board!
So in love with my board! It is light weight and relatively easy to carry, however I did purchase a carrying strap (goes over your shoulder like a purse) for when I have to walk longer distances with it. The deck pad is both comfortable and grippy. As another reviewer mentioned, it's a bit of a bummer that the bungee attachment only goes straight across (would prefer more of a zig-zag/X for better security) and that it doesn't even come with the bungee string. I'm only 5'3 and find that it's relatively easy to maneuver (SO glad I didn't get anything longer), however it is VERY slippery when wet, so I'm looking to find some kind of grippy material to put along the rails to help me better load it back on my car after use.
almost perfect
Very lightweight and stable in the water. I'm a first-timer and this board made it easy to get on the water and get the hang of stand up paddling. I was willing to pay the xtra $ for something i could get to and from the water myself. only problems i've identified are 1) that it scratches and dings pretty easily and 2) that the foot pad started coming up in two places after literally two uses. the area above the handle and the very pointy corner on the lower half of the mat design. How have they not figured out how to prevent that - esp in this price range? It's like they super-glued a yoga mat to the board. If it keeps coming up i'm going to have to bring this one back.
Excellent Board
I love this board! It's pretty (obviously!), and is pretty easy to carry. I've only taken her out on the river (calmer portion of the river) and it's been great so far. I can't wait to take her out to saltwater! I feel very stable on this board and have even tried some yoga poses to test out the stability. So far so good :)
Pretty but fragile
I've had a bit of a saga with this board. It was backordered for weeks then arrived damaged. REI sent it back and I had to wait another week for new non-damaged board to arrive. It's beautiful and relatively light for it's size but still somewhat difficult for a 5'2" 115 lb woman to manage without help. I ended up dinging it just trying to get it back into my house after it's maiden voyage : ( In hindsight I probably should've gone for something more durable and less expensive but I'm still excited to finally have my own SUP board!
Beautiful but functional too!~
This is my first paddle board. I am 5'4" and I can handle this board from loading it to carrying it to the water. It is very stable in the water and the graphics are beautiful and inspiring! I am very happy I purchased this board.
Tracks well, stable for petite, scratches easily
If this board didn't scratch so easily, I would love it! I'm 5'4" 125 and the board tracks well, turns quickly and is a joy to paddle. I bought the suction cargo net for the front and have a dry bag backpack, and it's everything I need. I bought a SUP-Now SUP Paddleboard Carrier/Storage Strap on Amazon, and can carry it to the water, and it helps me lift it on top of the Jeep. Love this board, might have to tape the sides to keep them protected.
