Must-have addition for Therm-a-Rest cot

Bought a couple of years ago for summer Sierra backpacking. Around 20 nights of use so far. Easy setup, and keeps out the bugs, as advertised. One minor issue: it's height and width easily catch the wind... Only once during an unusually windy night did this cause the shelter to shake enough to disturb my sleep. If left standing during the day (with nobody on the cot), wind can easily blow the shelter on its side, but this is easily remedied in 10 seconds by simply unhooking the supports. If I didn't already have this, I'd buy the cot tent - even tho night rain storms are rare in the Sierras during summer months. Fortunately Therm-a-rest now has a bug shelter rain fly add-on for $99.

backpacking review

the problem with this setup is weight. the cot plus the bug shelter weighs more than a high end mattress, tent and ground sheet or a hammock setup. but if one is not backpacking it is pretty nice to be above the ground.

This is just the net, not the cot

I bought this thinking it was both the cot and the net, based on the description, but it is just the net. It is way too expensive for just a net.

Sleep dry, sleep bug free

I received the cot bug shelter. I have an XL and it seems the shelter was made for a Regular size. I assembled it anyway in the hope that it would still work, and it DID! The shelter is a few inches short and a few inches less width but it will fit and is sturdy on the XL cot. The quality is excellent and while a bit smaller, there is plenty of room for a full sleeping pad and sleeping bag inside. Since I got a discount of about $100 on my particular purchase, I consider it a huge win.

amazing and works for my dogs!

I bought two of these for my dogs ( Flash, Goofus, and Rookie ) for they can sleep outside instead of the truck with me. I had to use a trap just in case it rained.. Flash still is getting used to it but Goofus and Rookie enjoy it.
