Nice light, but has some design flaws
We use this when camping with our dog, so we take it off his collar when home. My biggest issue is that it is a pain to take on and off. Last trip we had it off during the day so it didn't get wet when he swam, then put it on at night. Takes tiny nimble fingers to attach/detach to the collar ring. If you leave it on all the time then that wouldn't be a problem (although it would be loud jingling with the tags). Otherwise the light is great. Bright enough to see our dog from a couple hundred yards away, and I like the security that cars can see him. We have used it for a year and a half and just replaced the battery, which was an easy task. I think it's overpriced at $20, but we got it on sale.
Fell off coat in less than a month :(
Purchased 3 of these on 12/14/14. Clipped to loop on Ruffwear dog coats & one has already fallen off & is lost. Used the plastic clip, not the metal loop you see in pic (could not separate the metal parts to use that). Only used for dog walks. Disappointed as I purchased for under $8 at REI outlet and now have to spend $20 to replace. Worked great & I loved the light, just not happy it's gone already
falls off and breaks too easy!!!!
I have purchased 4 (2 for each for my Service Dogs's vests). In less than 3 months I have 1 left and it is taped down. The plastic clip is useless and the light will go off due to the motion of the dog walking fast or breaking trail if the metal clip is used to the collar. I have ad more success with a $7 Bell bike light from Walmart!!!
It is a Beacon!
I bought my first beacon when my dog, Jeter was 2 in 2013. It is the old kind with screws on the back. I striped the screws and now can't replace the battery. It lasted four years and I'm buying another today. I'm sure if I could get the door off the back I could just replace the battery on the old one. So made at myself. Glad they changed the design and the new ones don't have screws. I love using the always on feature, Jeter can be easily seen from more than two blocks away and we walk at night and dusk often. Love it
Great Light and Locator for Night Walks & Camping
I bought this for my dog Orvis for when we go on night walks which is frequently as well as when we go camping/backpacking. The light is bright and allows me to quickly find Orvis when he is walking around our campsite. It is great for cars to see him when we are walking down the street. Definitely would purchase again!
Very Bright-Durable-Great for Night time Jogging
Tried it out last night at sundown, attached it to the front of my dog's harness and set the light to blinking. Worked great and definitely got the attention of incoming drivers, as a safety feature pretty satisfied. However, I am not sure if it is waterproof and I'd like to know...walking in rain, running through puddles and streams etc. anyone know?
Dog tag
I boughts this a few weeks ago and use it on our new puppy's tags when we take her out in the evening. The on/ off button is not always easiest to turn on or find as it's on the side. Not sure how the design could be altered to fix this but over all it works great.
Perfect light for early morning walks!
My dog wears this light on her collar all the time. I just turn it off when we're done with our early morning walks, which is now in the dark in our Northwest location. So easy to use!
