Nite Ize  Radiant Rechargeable Micro Lantern - Disc-O Select

While a usual fan of Nite Ize products, this thing is sub par. 1) there is no memory function: you must cycle through all the options via its excessively firm button every time you turn it on, starting with its “disco mode”. For an “illumination product”, a simple feature like remembering which mode was last used makes sense. 2) removing the cover to recharge is no easy feat. Doing so makes you wonder if you’re damaging the seal or plastic pieces. To be a rechargeable light, an easier method of prying off the casing should have been implemented. 3) this being a new generation of this type of light, I’d expect its size to produce better light than its smaller counterparts: no such luck.

Got it so I can see my puppy at night since she’s all black. Works really well but now she’s trying to eat all the bugs. Hard to open but but at least it will stay closed and dry.

I have the MoonLit light and I use that in my tent. It is always there and I can turn it on to find other things. It isn't bright enough to read by, but I can find another light using it. I expected this light to be a rechargeable replacement. It doesn't meet that goal. It is very difficult to open to recharge and most annoying it wants to be a disco light instead of a white light. It has 4 modes: multi-color, red, green, blue and finally white - which is the only one I really wanted. It was cheap, but the MoonLit is a better light for my needs, but it is not rechargeable...

Nifty little light. Seems sturdy enough for a plastic thing. Nice size for dangling from a backpack or the inside dome of a tent. But holy moly it is sooooo difficult to get to the usb charging port. I needed a screwdriver to get the back cover off to get at the usb charging port. Fingers or fingernails alone will not achieve removal of the rear cover. By the way, you have to provide your own charging cable. Turning on the light requires SIGNIFICANT finger force on the rear cover to activate tiny rear power/light selection button inside. I guess this is ok to assure it does not turn itself when stowed, but still, it just seems overly difficult. Lastly, it does not remember the last light option setting you choose, so you have to cycle through all light options to get to the one you want - every single time.

Press twice for the solid red light to help with nightly diaper changes without waking the baby. With nightly use for 5 months, it's only required 2-3 power charges. Quality light for $15-20.

I wasn't happy with the lighting built into the RV -- too harsh and not in the spots where I wanted it. But a few of these Micro Lanterns in the right places fix that right up. They recharge easily. It's not enough light for these old eyes to read fine print, but it's perfect for playing checkers, enjoying a snack, just avoiding bumping into stuff.

I saw this little light and just had to have it. I like that it's rechargeable, the clip, and the 360* design is a neat feature. I mainly use it as a tent light by hanging it in the ceiling of my tent. It provides a nice, ambient light. It is NOT bright and I wouldn't use this as a substitute for a brighter light for hiking at night.

Good amount of light for the size and weight. Only negatives were having to cycle through all the different colors to get to white and the button is not easy to use.

This is the brightest collar light I’ve found for dogs. Not only does the disc light like the typical smaller disc lights you find in pet stores but it casts a beam of a few feet so you can see where your dog is even if it’s back is toward you.

I love that I can recharge: no more batteries to the landfill! White is bright enough to play cards but not so bright as to ruin the evening ambience. Red is bright enough light up the RV or the outdoor area without annoying the astronomers or affecting night vision, perfect for night time area lighting. But I have no use for green, blue, or "disco." Selections I could use would be white dim, white flashing, red flashing, amber for ambient lighting. Removing the cover to recharge can be a challenge or arthritic fingers, but I understand that a good seal is necessary to making it weatherproof. I'd give it 5 or even 6 stars if I liked the color options better.
