Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loved the bag BUT..... Spent big money on this bag - loved the look and the materials. Although was massively heavy when full. Didn't mind spending the money as expected it to last for years. Unfortunately after 3 International trips (and nothing to strenuous) the metal bracing went straight through the fabric. Un-repairable. Despite taking photos had to courier it back. Could't replace in the time before I was due to depart again - so got a full refund BUT was highly disappointed as I really like the brand. Would love to try again - maybe it was a one off..but reluctant in case happens again... have moved to Tatonka which doesn't look so good - but seems much stronger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money I work in the film business so when I travel, I pack for long stays and pack lots of gear. This bag has great capacity but I would not rate it as a "heavy duty" bag. First of all, the bag does not have a telescoping handle. The 2 sewn in handles are off center and it makes pulling the bag awkward. Plus, I'm 6'5" and an adjustable handle would make the bag easier to roll. Secondly, like and earlier reviewer, the internal metal frame poked a hole right through the bag. This seems to be a design flaw as I'm not the only owner to mention this. I've had the bag two years and have only done 3 major trips with it and its already shot. Definitely not worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rolling Thunder - 36" Purchased this luggage at an REI store in Oct 2014, and by Mar 2015 the bottom front portion of this luggage had two ripped holes. This is my third Rolling Thunder Luggage, but the first two were earlier generation models. Same occurred, as well as the wheels broke off or fell apart. Unfortunately, this is the only luggage that provides me with the ideal cubic space that I need. I am currently looking at other models and brands that would provide a much sturdier luggage. Definitely, NOT designed for rugged use, or for frequent global travelers, especially military or similar careers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bag for all adventure needs!! Took this bag on a 10-day bicycle trip through Glacier Natl Park and Canada. I rode everyday and tour company hauled stuff for us. I had EVERYTHING I could possible need in this bag!! 4 complete cycling kits, cold weather/rain gear, small bike pump and repair tools, my portable espresso maker(critical importance!!), laptop, iPad, GoPro stuff, charging cable for everything, casual clothes, running clothes, hiking boots, small foam roller, nutrition/snacks, etc!! I was so prepared it was insane!! Bag weighed 55 lbs to and from, but still easy to haul around because wheels are really durable. Can't wait to take it on a big ski trip this winter!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rugged Bag- needs some fit and finish The good-I needed a sturdy large wheelie bag and this seemed to fit the bill. I liked the idea of the rubberized finish for water resistance and separate compartment for shoes and dirty stuff. The bag is gigantic. Be aware of overfilling it and getting over weight fee at baggage counter. The bad- needs more internal separation, internal support, the bag collapses in on itself when packing.. Desperately needs an extending handle- hits the back of legs while pulling

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great, falling apart after trip 1 My first surf trip to Jefferies Bay the bag got a hole in hit and the plastic guard rails broke off. I bought a second bag hoping that wouldn't happen again but it did! Same type of damage. I'm a huge north face fan and I have tons of north face stuff. I'll I can figure is they are new to making bags like this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy I've had the whole set of this luggage (large and carry-on) and after going through old suitcases every few months, I am running on almost a year strong with this set. It's large open compartment lets me store my clothing and equipment with ease. The clasps outside help tighten the flap down snugly to accomodate the volume of "stuff" packed away. I have yet to fill this over capacity for one of my trips. My only complaint is that the cosmetic plastic covering the main flap is very thin and is scuffed off to reveal the tough nylon underneath that is unscathed from the trauma. Yes, I would buy this again. And again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stylish bag, but not recommended for rugged or frequent use. This is my third TNF Rolling Thunder 36" and had to exchange for a new luggage due to the poor quality of cloth/nylon material at the bottom area of the luggage. This latest version lasted only 3 trips before it ripped again. I purchased another brand's similar model with a more durable cordura nylon material, and cost much less than this brand name bag. Recommend to consider redesigning this version for more durable or reinforced materials, as well as modifying the handles for a telescopic version.
