Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable, smooth fit. These socks are good for the shorter hikes where you don't need a heavier sock. They kept my feet warm & dry, with no bunching in my hikers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these socks Bought these socks a year ago and they are great. Keep my feet dry and cool in hotter temperatures. I will be buying more of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lightweight Socks! I bought two pair of these about 10 months ago and they are the best everyday socks that I've found... yep, I've been using them as my everyday work socks, as well as for short (6 miles or less) hikes. They are comfortable and have held up very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from REI soxs, so far a home run I purchased these initially because they don't have extra padding and ribbing and because they are thin. For whatever reason I rarely have "cold feet" quite the opposite. So I've bought a couple more pair and wear them quite a bit. The jury is still out on the way they'll wear but so far they have been very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable I usually wear these for everyday use and they are the most comfortable socks I've ever owned. I put them on and it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing socks. I've also used them for shorter hikes and they have been fine. I haven't had them long enough to know how long they will last, but I bought a couple of pair when they were on sale just in case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice light weight sock; But! I have been purchasing these socks for a few years. I like the weight of them for everyday use and for summer light weight hiking. They offer no padding but are extremely comfortable in my work and dress shoes and they breathe extremely well in warm weather. The thing that I don't like about them is that they wear very quickly. I have had a few pair that have lasted only a couple of months. I keep buying them because I have not found an alternative that is this light weight and breathes this well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Comfortable Being new to hiking, I was hesitant when someone recommended that I purchase "wool" socks. To my dismay, these socks remained dry all day and added a tremendous amount of cushion in my boots. I would certainly recommend these socks to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice I've only had a chance to wear these once so far. They are light weight, which is exactly what I wanted. They fit perfectly on my 9.5 foot. They're comfortable, and keep my foot dry. They are better for warm weather than the light weight sock. The only reason I have then 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. I guess since you get what you pay for, O shouldn't complain. The are well made, and seem like they'll last a long time. The color selection was small, but they do look nice.

How do you recommend washing these socks?

Asked by: Carol P
These REI wool socks can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and either hang dried or dried on low heat.

I am looking for a lightweight Merino Wool sock to wear for everyday work. I am a Landscape Construction Foreman, and in the summer temperatures can be consistently in the 90s. Will these socks be light enough to keep my feet cool and dry?

Asked by: Josiah
These socks are a fine choice for keeping your feet dry and cool in the summer.

I have a pair of XL of the ultra lights merino wool. Work very well on hikes(I've used up to 15 miles). Came online to purchase several add'l pairs. Why XLs no longer available?!

Asked by: Todd41
As of June, 2017 we are sold out of stock in the XL size.
