Good to go…these boot liners fit the bill. I do wash them in cool water in my machine, but hang dry to prevent shrinkage. They do not stay white after a short while.
I had a bad reaction to the material. It was a full crew sock, but I folded back on itself to effectively make it a quarter crew. I can't say with certainty that the material caused this, but it has never happened to me in many many years of extensive hiking. Photo is 24 hours after a 3.5 hour, 10 mile hike.
I typically wear these under another pair of socks and they are great for preventing blisters! Despite the double layer I also rarely overheat in them.
I used these midway through my week long trail crew trip, after having previously used my preferred brand of liner socks for the first half. I got a blister at the end of my first day using these liners. (I literally can’t remember the last time I got a blister hiking or backpacking.) Since I was hiking the same trail back and forth to the work site, the only factor that changed was these liner socks. The texture doesn’t feel as fine as the liner sock brand that I prefer. I will be returning them.
Thick seam in toe section of shoe makes this sock causes blisters
As an avid year round hiker let me just say these liner socks worn inside my Vermont Darn Tough wool socks are a match made in heaven. I hike with waterproof Keen boots in the Maine mountains and I used to get at least one nasty blister on my toes during the longer 12-16+ mile hikes (ascending and descending very steep rugged terrain. These liner socks completely prevent those blisters and they excel in wicking away sweat. I couldn’t be more satisfied with this product and I’m planning to purchase more of these.
Nice socks, slightly thicker knit than I expected for "liner socks". They feel like poly crepe. However, the size chart did not work for me. I wear womens 10 and ordered size L, and they are too small.
I was genuinely surprised by how much I loved these socks! When I picked them up in stores, I was surprised by how thin they were and ultimately, didn’t think I’d like them! My boyfriend convinced me to just try them out because “it’s REI and they’re $9. they’ve got to be good” and well, they are!! I took a chance and broke them in during a day’s hike through Hocking Hills and I felt so comfortable and dry the entire time!! They are a cute length too, and stylish! My only issue was that they got dirty so easy, but of course they’re white so I get it!
Way too big! These are the same Coolmax sock liners that I love, and I ordered the same size as always, medium. I received socks whose packaging showed them as medium (women’s 7 to 9.5, my size). Inside the top edge of the sock are the letters MD. My old ones are marked M. I don’t know what the D means, but these are not medium socks. They are more than an inch longer from heel to toe then my old socks, and longer at the top end as well. Returning.
Purchased these from recommendation by Darwin On The Trail (those hip to his Youtube channel will know...) and I will say they definitely exceeded my expectations. I did not expect socks under $10 to work so well. I pair them with other athletic socks while hiking and backpacking and have definitely noticed how much less my feet rub and/or sweat with them on. Convinced me to buy several more pairs!
