This chair is robust. It can handle bigger folks with no issues. It’s sturdy & well built. It packs down to a surprisingly small size. Very portable. Quick & easy to set up the frame BUT the first time you try to squeeze the fabric over the posts is difficult (like…really tight…) but it does loosen up a bit after you sit in it & take down/set up a few times. I think the fabric relaxes a bit & it gets easier. Anyhow, big Agnes makes solid heavy duty products. Would buy again.
I’m a longtime fan of Big Agnes gear—the quality has always been a step above—and the Mica Basin Camp Chair continues that trend. We picked up a few of these in the Trout pattern to keep in our cars for impromptu hangs, roadside picnics, and longer camp setups, and they've been a fantastic addition. Yes, they’re on the pricier side compared to other camp chairs, but in return you get excellent construction, easy setup, and real all-day comfort. I’ve sat in this chair for hours at a time—around the fire, by the river, and even tailgating—and I never find myself shifting around or looking for a break. They’re light enough to toss in the back without thinking twice, and they pack down easily. The Trout pattern is also a fun, subtle nod to the outdoors—just enough personality without being over the top. If you're someone who values durability, comfort, and thoughtful design, this chair is worth the investment. It’s now a permanent fixture in our travel setup.
I was surprised how comfortable this chair is. It is higher and more supportive than I expected. Packs small and is lightweight. Only negative is the small diameter feet can sink into soft ground.
My first camp chair! I was surprised by how roomy it was for my tush. Got it on sale. A bit hard to put the covers on the first time. But I think over time it should get easier.
I bought this hoping it would be comfortable siding on while hiking and hunting and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. It actually gives some back support, unlike many ultralight chairs that have you in a boiled shrimp position. I have fairly extensive back injuries and this chair is a game changer. I highly recommend it
Was looking for a sturdy lightweight chair at an affordable price. Got this on sale and very happy.
