Pros: I needed a small pack for a 100mi hike attempt and landed on the XT 15. I wanted something that fit like a vest and had a decent capacity. And this checks all those boxes. I also did some trimming of extra material to lean it out as much as possible. Cons: The hip belt pockets are very hard to access while wearing; they feel too far behind me and strain my shoulders to zip/unzip. I also thought that there was going to be more storage on the shoulder straps. Overall, its a good pack and I'm satisfied with my purchase for the price point that seemed lower than other comparable packs. Salomon is a good company with quality products.
Hey, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We often adjust our products based on direct customer feedback. We will make sure to pass this along to our designers for consideration in future products.
This is the 3rd Salomon bag I buy to use to run commute, and overall my 5th Salomon pack (I use smaller bags for races/trail running). Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with this one, which never happened before. The fabric used on the back of the bag is REALLY scratchy. As in every part of the bag that comes in contact with my skin causes raw skin after only a few minutes, even though I am able to run with other packs for hours without a problem. This is too bad, because the pockets and everything else about the pack is good. I am now covered in KT tape until I get another bag. Maybe I'll get some use out of this one during the winter when layers of clothing protect my skin

I purchased this pack for 2 hikes at Zion National Park, The Narrows and Angels Landing. Considering the hikes were very different, my packed worked super well and was comfortable for both. It made it easy to stay hydrated on over 100 degree days!
The pack worked great for several hikes in Glacier National Park. There is room to hold plenty of layers or whatever you may need to enjoy the outdoors. The hip belt and shoulder pockets work well to keep things close at hand. I would have rated this higher if the buckles and the paracord where stronger. First time I stowed my hiking poles the paracord snapped and was useless after that. Just be careful when using the buckles and cord and you should be OK.
I bought this pack for a Disney Land trip as Disney requires a certain size of pack. I was also planning on using it for Ultra running after for those longer multi day runs. The shoulder strap at the base of the pack ripped after using it for Disney Land. I would not recommend using this for any type of ultra running as it could become a liability if the shoulder straps rips. You would not be able to repair mid run and would be out of the race. Durability is not the best especially if you plan to ultra run with this pack.

Received this bag December 2nd, 2022 and have been training with it for a 100 mile race coming up in September of 2023. Enough room for light down puffy jacket, snacks, water, gaiters, and more. The front pockets I have not put to use yet but have just ordered 2 Salomon flask that fit the backpack. When I first got the pack I thought it was a little "cheaply made" but the more I use it I am seeing I was wrong. This little pack is very durable and light weight, perfect for long days on the trail.
I really like this pack. I use it for day hikes primarily. It wears like a running vest without any bounce or sway. Really nice! At 15L, it is large enough, but I would like a 20L or 25L also if it were available. I like that the pockets on the shoulder straps fit 500ml flasks, but I do like the flask pockets on the ADV skin 12 better. Just easier to load and drink along the trail. Otherwise perfect for my uses.
I have been using this pack for over a year now, and it is a GREAT option for a light day pack. THINGS I LIKE: It fits like a running vest so I can bring it on trips to use also for running. The two zippered pockets are perfect for flasks but also being stretchy you can really push their capacity to store cycling sunglasses, chargers and phones, glasses in their case, a gopro alongside its tripod, you name it! The bungee cord outside means you do not need to have your jackets take space inside. Also super helpful to carry a pair of sandals, or yoga mat. Fits almost anyone, both my wife and I use it and we are nowhere near the same size. ONE THING I DID NOT LIKE: It doesn't really have structure to it, so if you carry a lap top, for example, it won't offer any protection or structure. IT IS NOT DESIGNED to be a commuter bag, but this is the only thing that keeps it from being one.
So glad to have found the perfect small pack for quick day trips into the hills. One that isn’t too bulky for going through some brush, with just enough pockets for my essentials, and a great hydration system.
Great day pack for short and longer hikes. The strap pockets fit a 500ml soft glass so you can remove the bladder and just use those for shorter trips. Fits nicely and straps are comfortable.
