I was worried about my bunions and slight foot arthritis before a (light) hiking trip to Scotland, and my podiatrist recommended Keen as a good brand with a wide toebox. These shoes comfortably carried me many miles hiking and city walking for two weeks, and they're still going strong. They also had room for my custom insoles for my flat arches. They're lightweight and they've remained waterproof in crossing streams and some sea splashes. And they're not oppressively hot when hiking at home in North Carolina summer. I'm very happy with them. I did wish for something more brightly colorful, but the mossy olive green is nice.
These seem like pretty decent hikers, just were not the right fit for me. I have had a lot of Keen boots because I have wider feet and they’re usually the most accommodating. I found these pretty comfortable but not quite as wide as some of my others, and they rubbed on the outside of my foot a bit. I tried two sizes but the larger size didn’t help, so ultimately it was a return for me. Otherwise they were good quality - very light (I was hoping for something lightweight for travel), decent cushion, and I’d have kept them if they were slightly wider in the toe box.
I so wanted to love these shoes. The toe box area is super comfortable, the construction seems really great, the grip, and cushion, are superb. They’re also not heavy. I love them, except for one small problem, that could become a huge problem on the trail. The design or fabric used and seams in and around the ankle area rubs my ankle in a weird way. Such that it’s obvious that within the first hour of hiking, I would get a blister or worst get a raw sore. I wish the fabric was softer around the inner ankle part of the shoe. It might be a fluke and I may opt for a smaller size. I sized up to accommodate possible swelling after hours on a trail. Unfortunately, I have to purchase these online because they’re not available to try on at my local REI store.
Super sleek looking boot with all the features you would want but the boots run so small. I consistently wear a 7.5 in women’s and they were both too tight and too short.
Lucky to find these! I wasn't sure how if these were going to be what I wanted, but they have been everything I needed and more! So happy with these hiking boots!
Upper mesh separated before the end of my first season wearing them. Good thing is Keen has helpful customer service and warranties. Not the boots to get if you wear them a lot/for long hours. They are comfortable boots though.
