I tried on just about every pair of hoking boots in the store, with the nicest staff member, Michael. finally settled on these Keen boots. Excellent ankle support, toe box is nice and wide, great arch support. I love them and get manycompliments. lighter weight too, super comfortable and sturdy.
While these boots fit the way you want a pair of Keens to fit you, they seem to not be durable. Aside from really showing dirt making them look old when they have only been worn for about 6 weeks the foam is breaking off im chunks around the heel. These boots probably won't hold out through the year.
I bought these boots a week before my trip. I wanted something that had a minimal break in time, lightweight but waterproof, a roomy toe box, and could handle some rougher terrain. I took these out to California, wore them on a few shorter hikes, then wore them to hike up half dome. I didn’t have any blisters and they definitely helped me complete the 17 mile hike. I would highly recommend this for a hiking shoe!
Comfortable,like waterproof high top sneakers
I’m on the fence on how to write this review. I purchased these and wore on a 13 mile backpacking trip without breaking them and they were oh so comfortable, I didn’t even use my camp shoes. But….. after the 2nd time wearing they have chunks missing out of the sole of the heel and toe area. I feel like for this amount of money they should last more than 2 wears.
Wide-feet girlies rejoice!! These have a wider toe box and are not pointy at the toes. I typically buy a half size up to get some extra room but did not need it for these. Cushion and support is great!
These are my favorite hiking shoes I've ever owned. They were comfortable right out of the box and offered a lot of cushion with amazing stability. I backpack in them for 10 days around Yosemite and Ansel Adams and could not have been more pleased. I have wide feet and normally I wear a size 8, but in Keen I find that I size up a half size for my slightly larger foot. I have paired these with high arch running Superfeet insoles and my Feet were happy after long days of caring a pack!
This shoe is lightweight on my feet but gives me the support my ankles need to hike inclines. They will get muddy but like the waterproof material and design.
Have only done one hike with these so far, but they were the most comfortable of the 5 pair that I tried on, and provided good ankle support and sole protection on a rocky trail. I hesitated about buying because I didn't like the big purple heel, but then I can't see that when I'm wearing it - I can only see the tops of the shoe.
After two wears both shoes were missing chunks out of the squishy foam sole.
