KEEN  Hightrail Waterproof Hiking Boots - Women's

I want to really like these boots and they are super comfortable however I think there is a potential flaw in the sole design. I find mine to be very slippery and have fallen several times now...loose leaves on a downward slope, wet ground, basically in spots that you need more traction. They are like skis. The totally flat sole and flatter flared heel seem to not grip as well as a boot with a more distinctive heel and "sharper" sole. I've decided no matter how comfortable they are, here on my steep WV trails, they are a bit too slick to use.

These boots are 11/10! They are so awesome. They fit really well (especially for my wide toebox friends), and feel like you're wearing nothing at all! Usually very light shoes translate into flimsy hikers but these seem sturdy and awesome. Plus they're fashionable! I just wore them for an hour and a half out in the snow (about 33 degrees F outside) and my feet were TOTALLY warm and dry, even while wearing only medium-weight Smartwool socks. I don't know what kind of black magic they use to keep the water out but it really works. I walked about a mile and a half in the snow, and they looked exactly the same at the end as they did when I first put them on. The ONLY thing that I don't like about them is that the ankle part is pretty tight and uncomfortable when you lace them up all the way, but I just solve that by...not lacing them up all of the way.

These are honestly one of the best shoes I’ve ever owned. They are SO versatile. I bought them last month right before a hiking trip and they have basically no break in time, comfy from the start. Great ankle support, we hiked a lot of strenuous/uneven terrain. Perfect mix of ankle support, but they don’t weigh your feet down. We were in warmer conditions, and also weather as low as 15 degrees. Just add a layer of wool socks or two and you’re good. I haven’t tested them in snow so I can’t say much on that. Since they look more like sneakers, I wear them for things aside from outdoorsy stuff too, even just casual outfits day to day. I personally think they look so cool, and they match with everything. Just buy them!

I have somewhat of a bunion issue and benefit from wide toe boxes. These boots were perfect: perfectly comfortable right out of the box and after my immediate 4 mile hike. Lightweight, good color, and incredibly comfortable. No chance to check water-proofness but will do that in Iceland. I was skeptical about ever finding boots that made my feet happy but these are the ones!!! (Size 6, true to size.)

LOVE this boot. I had switched to trail runners for my long treks because other boots were too heavy or were not wide enough. These are lightweight, have a roomy toe box for my wide feet. Great cushioning so I don't feel every rock I step on. My feet are way less tired. Will be buying another pair. These are the boots that have brought me back to the boot life.

They’re comfortable right out of the box, stable underfoot, and grippy on everything from wet boardwalks to rocky trails. For anyone who loves a good day hike, I can’t recommend them enough.

Loved these Keen Boots - so lightweight, comfortable (especially since I have wider feet) and really great on the trails. The additional support around the ankles are perfect for stability and ensuring I can make the most of it on the trails. Love the color!

These boots are warm, grippy, and require no breaking in. I purchased these on a Thursday for a Saturday winter holiday activity outside. I wore them on Friday to test their comfort level, and my feet were comfortable all day with no blisters. I am a teacher, so there was a lot of walking throughout the day. The Saturday winter activity was outside in 7 degree temperatures. My feet were cozy! Not cold at all with a pair of wool socks. I’m still a little unsure about the large toe box, which makes these boots feel like they run wide. I prefer my shoes to fit closer, but the REI team member reminded me that constricting the blood flow in cold weather will lead to cold feet. So I went with these, and I know I have toe space to wear even thicker socks in colder weather. Since purchasing, I’ve been using the boots for 3 mile dog walks in the snow and slush. My feet, knees, and hips all feel supported, even though I prefer a more stabilized sole for my pronation. The tread of the shoe is extra grippy and good for snowy conditions. If you love Keen shoes for their wide toe box, these are a great purchase. I’m still testing to make sure I don’t get any blisters and to get used to the wide toe box, which is why I gave 4 stars. These are probably closer to a 4.5+ star boot. I’m pretty pleased with this purchase, and I hope they hold their support for a long time.

I was very happy with these hiking boots, after wearing them for a weekend away that included hiking in mud, rain and even a little ice. They felt comfortable without having time to break them in. I have a neuroma and plantar fasciitis right now, and these were extremely comfortable considering both issues. They look great, and did not look dirty or wet after wearing them. I did have to size up to a 9 when I normally wear 8.5.

Ordered online and returned after trying at home. Usually love Keens, but for my foot shape, I was worried about blisters forming on the back of my foot. The stitching that connects the upper part of the boot was very stiff in the back (on the upper heel). I've had problems with other boots rubbing a blister in that area, so I decided not to risk it.
