Fast, practical, stable and fun!

This bike is a huge upgrade over the Orbea Katu E10, which I have loved for the past 4ish years. Both have 20" wheels and middrive but the longtail and purpose built cargo rack has been a huge upgrade. I had an aftermarket bike rack on the Orbea that made loading my kiddo pretty awkward (plus that kickstand is wobbly). By comparison the kickstand is rock solid and the kids (plural now) ride super stable compared to what I had before. They can climb on without hardly a wiggle and they clamor to come because this thing is so fun. I don't like going the fastest speeds with my kids in the back but I like having that extra speed available when I'm on my own. One quibble: I checked my speed a few times and it goes about 2mph slower than the onboard computer says. The front rack is great and fits a small grocery run pretty easily. I haven't tried and real cargo carrying in the back, just kids but the promo pictures with the euro crate indicate this will be a very practical ride even after my kids are too big to join me.

Fantastic bike

I’ve been using this to take kids to school/camp for a few months now, and it’s a blast. The bosch motor & flow app are really nice to use. Dropper seat is real convenient. Headlight is nice & bright. The panniers (bought separately) are super high quality & good value. Only thing I’ll note is that the seat is a bit high for shorter folks (like 5’3”) and the rear rack’s rear position does NOT fit a Yepp Maxi 2 due to how the posts on the rack line up (a Yepp Maxi Nexxt 2 fits the rear position just fine).

fast easy and good for any trail.

I recently sold my car because I live in a small town to buy an e-bike, and the cargowagen neo really did replace my car I can get anywhere in town in 30 min or less. I will enjoy many trips and adventures with this bike! It also fits ortlieb bags and panniers. I love taking my mom for a ride in my bike trailer to the park!

Disappointed in the customer service

I have no complaints about the bike, but I purchased just a 2 months before it went on sale and the only option that REI left me was to buy a second one and wait for the sale to end to return the first one. Which is crazy. Horrible customer service! I lost 1400+ dollars buy a bit too early and they were unwilling to do anything. Disappointed in what I thought was a great company.

Phenomenal! It's a steal at $3500

This is a phenomenal bike. Lighter and more agile than the TERN GSD. Great pickup. Faster than the Tern school bus. The built in storage space is awesome to store a lock. I would definitely buy again. At $3500 this is a steal.

Great travel companion for NYC

Snagged this after the recent price drop and am absolutely loving it. The bike has ample power to haul me and the kids, carry our gear, and get us around NYC safely and quickly. It rides, looks, and feels like a good quality bike, and I like that it has the backing of both REI (for a while), as well as Cannondale for the long haul. I have two boys (5 3) and have the Cargowagen outfitted with two Thule Yepp Maxi 2, currently without a surround bar. The seats fit very easily on the rack with plenty of room for either boy in either seat. One thing to note is if you’re a larger human, when you pedal you might occasionally clip the footrests of the yepp with your heel if they’re too far forward, so it’s a bit of trial and error as far as positioning. The Cargowagen surround rail (and many Cargowagen accessories) are critically under-available, I’m going to figure out how to mount a Flyer kid cargo carrier to the tail to make it more cargo friendly when not hauling the kids. Just keep in mind these bikes are long. Check your space to make sure it will fit. It’s a bit unwieldy at times hauling it out from where I have it given the weight and shape, but that would honestly be true of any bike in this class. This thing is a blast to ride and I pulled the trigger after extensively researching this and the comparable Tern (which for me was the GSD). Despite the lack of accessories, the price/performance on this was what made me go the Cannondale route, as well as knowing Cannondale’s commitment to their bikes. 3rd party accessories will be figured out with a little ingenuity.
