Great touring coat!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only have had a couple chances to wear this coat so far but I love it. Packs decently small, super waterproof and does well in wind. It's my go to coat for any active outdoor adventure. Pair it with a WarmCube Active micro puffy and the Orion Bib Pants and you have one heck of a kit!

Hard to please
I love 80% of this jacket. The center zipper does not engage or flow smoothly. The front zipper pockets are too far back and open too far to allow contents to exit unexpectedly. The zipper tags are small and can be hard to locate with a thick glove on in cold temps. When fully zipped and hood up, the fit on the face is a bit too snug. I would prefer a little more space and softer inner fabric. Those are minor, personal preferences. This thing is otherwise bombproof. It handles sub-zero when well layered. It is windproof and waterproof once sealed. I would take this to Everest if given the chance. It's built to be a shell, so it's a weird choice to wear by itself, but if you are layering up to fight a yeti, this is the gear.

Staying dry all day long.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super happy with my new Orion Jacket. I need to replace my 1993 Marmot Alpinist light parka, and found the current Alpinist jacket a poor replacement. Many of the very useful features on my old Alpinist seem to have been edited out. Fortunately, the Orion is a solid replacement. It is super water proof, has a nice length and vent well when the body heat is on the rise. I will forever miss my original '90's era Marmot Alpinist light parka, but hopefully the new Orion jacket last as long.

wanted it to be as wonderful as prior Marmot
I am returning this because it is a very basic shell, not warm at all. The prior Marmot ski jacket had just a tiny bit more insulation. We have not been able to find one that has a bright color that is not over or under insulated. Pockets are also suboptimal
