REI Co-op  Powderbound 3-in-1 Jacket - Men's

I've been prepping for a winter trip to a cold, northern climate and had spent literal months buying, trying, and returning different jackets and coats that ticked enough boxes for warmth, versatility, ease of movement, etc. I really thought this was it, as it seemed to have just about everything I wanted except for the two-way zipper (which, after months of fruitless searching, I was ready to concede). Tried my usual XL size and it fit fine, but it felt like layering might cause it to be tight. Moved up to the XXL and it felt relaxed enough to wear a fleece or sweater under it without becoming constrained. But those sleeves, though. I told myself, "it's just the store; let's get it home and try it with what I'd expect to be wearing." Nope. Despite adjusting the cuff, a sweater underneath, and putting on thicker gloves, the sleeves were just annoyingly long and I'm a guy with long arms (36/37) who usually complains about sleeves being fit for a T-rex. Adjusting the cuff only made the cuff bulk and uncomfortable and when I tried an XL again in the store after returning the XXL, the sleeves still felt long. Too bad. So close to being near-perfect for my needs. For someone very slim with long arms or a ski-bound orangutan, this could be a winner.

It wasn't so warm. At 32 degrees I was very uncomfortable even with extra layering. I like the jacket but keeping warm is important. Sizing is bigger than normal especially at the sleeves. At least REI has a good return policy so all is good.

I was looking for an all purpose winter jacket I could hit the slopes with when this showed up in my inbox. It had all the bells and whistles I was looking for, adjustable cuffs, chest pocket, forearm pocket for a pass, and cinches for the hood and bottom of the jacket. I was skeptical of the size chart. Some dimension didn't make sense like the arm length. I'm 5'11/295lbs and decided on the 3x. It's just about a perfect fit. The arms aren't excessively long and allow for ease of movement. The length of the jacket is just right and doesn't ride up above the waist. Decent room in the chest. That is with the detachable inner liner and wearing a base layer with overall style snow pants. I think this is a solid jacket for the price.

Bought this about six weeks ago and I’ve never once felt cold in it despite being in subzero temperatures with subzero windchill. It’s durable heavyweight, but not being covered or some. Pockets did all the right places. The neck is lined with fuzzy material so we zip it all the way up it’s perfect. The pockets are fleet lined. What more could you ask for?

There's probably no better winter jacket near this price point. The shell is tough enough for real world use, but not excessively stiff or heavy. I'm 5'8" 145lb and size small fits perfect with room for winter layers. There's plenty of length for someone taller too. My only criticism is the chest pocket is a little odd, it fits a phone but it would be hard to reach down into it for a small item.

I am very pleased with the quality. I wore jacket on a 60 minute walk ata moderate pace, with medium flannel shirt, in 15 degree temp and was warm. I also wore with a heavy sweater and it was comfortable to wear. Sleaves a are little long, but did not interfere with heavy gloves. I am 73" tall, 183 lbs and have a 34/35" sleeve.

Decent jacket for the price. As a tall, husky guy I found the length of the jacket to be nice minus the sleeves. The sleeves are pretty long. Not an issue when wearing gloves but without them its an issue. The big hit is the liner jacket. On its own the liner is warm, fits well and layers great over a hoodie. 10/10 on the liner jacket.

This is a nice and versatile jacket. Always love the 3-n-1 feature.
