Excellent bike and super Service techs.
Dispute a bumpy start (the REI team assembling the first bike delivered found a bent part and had to reorder) the bike was assembled and available for me to pick up promptly. It has been a pleasure to ride and the bike techs were very helpful. They even went above and beyond when I ran into a problem installing a front rack ordered from Cannondale that I attempted to self install but found the headlight wiring too short to relocate it from the fork stem to the rack front as directed by Cannondale. REI modified the instructed mounting to work around the problem immediately when I brought to them at no charge.
Great first e-bike, excellent quality, intuitive
This is my first electric bike and I am extremely pleased with the Cannondale Neo Allroad. We did a lot of research on electric bikes and rented a few before purchasing. A class I/II bike was perfect for us and permissible in the area where we live. The Neo Allroad looks fantastic, the build quality is excellent with no blemishes or defects, it is comfortable to ride, the drive system is intuitive and unobtrusive. The claimed battery range has been true to real life. It is hilly where we live and we had given up on cycling, but the Neo Allroads give us the support we need to be able to conquer the hills. The bike is an assist, we are still doing most of the work and getting the heart rate up in the process. Many of these hills we simply could no longer climb without the assist. I wish a couple of things were better on the bikes: the breaks are not fantastic, after 100 miles of riding they still have a bit of a squeal to them and not as robust at stopping as other bikes; I wish there was higher end gearing. In 7th, top gear, the bike tops out at 18.5 mph, A little more to push against would be nice. I'm 6'-2", 175lbs with a 32" inseam and the large was the right frame size for me. My wife is 5'-10" with a 34" inseam. She was between a medium and large and opted for the larger frame which was the right choice. We outfitted both bikes with SKS Mudrocker fenders (front & rear) and Topeak MTX rear racks. It was like they were all designed to go together. Great setup.
my first e-bike
really nice ride. My first e-bike. The folks at REI Bellingham were very helpful. I test rode a few of their offerings and chose this one. If I had any complaint / criticism it would be the size of the chain ring. I spend 99% of my time in 6th or 7th gear. I haven't had to downshift beyond that, and when going downhill I "could" peddle but w/ the small chainring the cadence just gets stupid. Anyway, the sale was on, the price was right, and my wife purchased a Allroad (step thru version) as well.
Cannondale is a good solid brand
The Cannondale is a good solid electric bike. I prefer throttle as well as pedal assist. Throttle power is not as powerful as my other 2 ebikes but does the job. Overall a good choice.
SOLD TO ME UNFINISHED
I give a bad review because they cannot build this bike correctly! I wonder how often this happens with them. i bring this bike home to realize there is screws sticking out halfway and the chain is off balance because of it! they sent no emails of it being done I had to call and they say it was done , but it was not! now I have to bring this bike back and who knows maybe I have to drop it off and make 2 trips! waste of gas and time! I almost don't want it anymore! hire actual builders
I almost died
This is literally the worst product I've ever bought in my life. I came closer to dying on this bike than I did riding on the streets of Saigon. The brakes went out and the REI techs can't even tell why. Even when the brakes worked it was not a good bike- the battery didn't get me more than 10 miles and the motor stuck on meaning that I was lurching into traffic despite braking.
Without battery assist, the bike is useless
After the battery assist stopped working for the second time within the first month, I'm returning it
