[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Speed Lite 28 SL for Women to try. It is lightweight and fits well and stays in place with waist and shoulder straps. I did some hiking this month while on vacation and liked that it was easy to use. I does have pockets for your phone and wallet.
This pack is incredible: it holds all the gear I need for quick overnight missions while fastpacking and mountain running, but never feels heavy or bulky. I love how close it carries to my body, i.e. the vest-style chest straps seem to help redistribute weight while also providing a little extra storage for things like my phone, bear spray, hydration, and snacks. Long story short: i would DEFINITELY consider this for my major mountain missions!
I just trekked 450 miles through Italy carrying only my Speed Lite 28 backpack. Not only is it lightweight but surprisingly durable given the use. The pack fits comfortably on my back even on long hikes. The inside lip pocket came in handy to store items that I wanted easy access to but wanted to keep safe/secure (ie. passport). Although not labelled a waterproof bag, it has held up very well in a few rain showers I encountered on my walk. My only complaints about the pack are that the water pocket on the outside of the pack is starting to fray and that given the tight snug, the shoulder straps hold onto the smell from body odor. Despite these concerns this pack has out performed my expectations and has become my favorite backpack.
Worked great. Comfy and lightweight. My biggest complaint is that my reservoir tubes get kinked coming through the portal.
I have been climbing with deuter packs for almost 9 years. The SL line has been the best thing to happen for individuals with a narrow build. The Speed Lite 28 SL is perfect for me for single-pitch cragging. I can easily fit a single trad rack, alpine draws, shoes, chalk bag, and harness as well as a small lunch and I'm set for the day. There's no empty space that makes a bag awkwardly sag, but everything compactly fits inside. It's a comfortably lightweight pack, but durable enough. The shoulder straps and hip belt both fit my petite frame well, which is usually my crux. I've done hour+ long approaches and have never been happier. When I multi-pitch climb, I usually like using something small and compact, like the Speed Lite 13. For longer trips in the alpine, my go-to is the Aircontact Core 45+ 10 SL. Consistently satisfied with the quality, comfort, and colors. For transparency, I've been an ambassador for deuter but that only reinforces that I've loved climbing and hiking with deuter packs for almost a decade and putting these packs to use! Whether cragging or in the mountains, I'm 10/10 forever a deuter girly.
This backpack was perfect...until I clipped the chest strap. It is designed way too low for a woman's chest and cuts uncomfortably across the breasts, rather than strapping across the chest above them. All other Deuter backpacks have appropriately placed chest straps...not sure what went wrong with the design on this one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the Dueter Speed Lite 28 SL Wandern Hiking Randonnee Backpack. It’s very lightweight and has plenty of pockets and storage space. It is a snug fit and stays in position with the equipped waist belt and shoulder straps
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, I’m really impressed with this backpack. I like the feel of it, the lightweight material and the extra roomy size. It fits comfortably on my back and doesn’t hurt my back or shoulders. It distributes stuff we’ll.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hiking bag is spacious inside and easy to fit a jacket in. The design makes it convenient to access all the different compartment. The straps and the back support are comfortable even for a long hike. I also like there are hidden pockets with zipper on top part of the bag. Materials are super light and waterproof. Also, great for travel use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lightweight, lots of pockets and room for a weeks worth of clothing + shoes etc! Also, several sizes to choose from!! My friends are always looking for products that simplify their life just like me! So this backpack happens to be one of the perfect items for them as it comes in different sizes and shapes for whatever their needs happen to be!
