I really loved the comfort of these shoes from the get go. They had cushion and support. Upon getting them dirty I washed them per the usual instructions and noticed a small spot around the ankle where the fabric had worn. I had had the shoes no more than 3 months. Six months down the line and I had splits in the material in 4 places all over the shoes. I am so disappointed in the quality of the shoe given that they cost almost $150. I probably won't purchase this brand again because it isn't worth the price to have shoes showing major signs of wear and tear after only 3 months of purchase, when almost all the tread is still present on the bottom.
Hard to believe shoes this expensive are made with poor quality materials. I walk less than three miles a day and don’t run. The shoelaces kept getting untied. Within three weeks, had holes around the collar.
I have the Cloud running shoe which I love. The Trail Running counterpart is just as light weight and good looking but the I had a tear in the sidewall of these after about two trail runs. Honestly, I have no idea when or how they tore.. I didn't fall or run into anything. I plan on returning and get something a little bit more durable.
Great shoes but very poor quality of the outer lining. Started to shoe wear and tore within 3 months and within 9months of low-moderate usage on a dirt road, the outer lining had massive rips in both shoes. Not what i would have expected from an expensive trail running shoes that has many miles left on the tread/soles.
These are the worst running shoes I have ever had. I took them for a 7 mile run on easy terrain and by the end, there was already a tear form. For a shoe this expensive, I expect them to last longer than SEVEN MILES. Also, the holes in the sole mean rocks and other debris get stuck and you’ll end up feeling it. Needless to say, I won’t be buying this brand again.
I was super excited to get my first pair of On shoes, but I'm a little disappointed. First, they do run small-I went up a half size and looking back, I probably should have gone up a full size. I took them on a recent trip and found they are comfortable for short periods of time and for casual wear. However, I got mine for strenuous, multi-hour hikes. I found that my feet ached at the end of the day--not from rubbing/blisters, but from the lack of arch support. For the money, I'm not sure I'd recommend them, especially for trails. I'm hiking Yosemite in a few months and will invest in some good insoles--hopefully that will help provide more support.
I’ve had these for a little over a week now and ran in them 5 times. I’ll start off by saying I am a true 11, literally all my shoes are 11, and I ordered an 11. The first 3 runs, they felt a little snug and I worried that they may be too tight and maybe I should’ve sized up. I stuck with them and by the 4th run they feel perfect and definitely not too tight. They have the perfect amount of cushion and spring without offering too much. I also think they have a trendy look to them. The bottoms are a little better than other on cloud shoes in that there is less space to capture rocks or sticks if you’re trail running. I would buy again and I’m looking at possibly ordering another style from this brand for wear elsewhere. Great shoes!
These are my first pair of On shoes. They are tighter than I expected, I am size 7, bought a 7.5 and decided to keep in hopes that the shoes will stretch. It’s been a week and my toes are still feeling squished use. Also, I love the color but don’t think it’s the best for trail running as it’s mostly white and it gets dirty easily with all the dust. I also feel a lump on the balls of my feet which can be irritating. Would recommend you order two sizes up.
I bought these for trail runs in the tropical mountains just outside of Cali, Colombia where I live. There's significant uphill/downhill with small to medium rocks, big leaves and sticks, construction leftovers like tile, and lots of moisture which can cause mud or general slipperiness but that seemed like the point of getting these... While these won the wear test at my local running store in the States, I am finding that my Brooks Adrenaline 22's are the ones I'm reaching for on any run and they perform way better. Small rocks get stuck in the huge tread gap almost every time, and even if they don't, the shoes are so light that I feel every little detail which make my toes, feet and ankles sore which is not something I've felt before. I have almost twisted my ankle twice with these and not even on wet or muddy days. I don't care about how I look when I run, but I think the design and color schemes are pretty ugly so I can't even get away with using these as casual shoes either. They run very small, these are a full size larger than my usual.
To be honest, I was super excited to get into a pair of the On running shoes. I purchased this shoe (typically size 10 and had to size up to 10.5 in these, a narrow foot/heel) and the first week I had these, a rip developed in an outer seam. My husband also purchased a pair shortly after and the SAME thing happened. Comfy shoes, not sure about the QC at On.
