Purchased these to run a half marathon at Griffith Park in LA. I bought them the week of the race because I only did road running for training. I was nervous because there was zero break-in for the race. The shoes were great. I went with On for trail shoes because I have 2 other pairs of road shoes in my rotation and they are my favorite. I had zero blisters or foot pain post-race. I do wish there was a little more cushion, but the tread is great and provided traction on the steep trails.
I have had two pair of the original version of the Cloudultra, which I used for trail running distances between 3-15 miles at a time. I mostly run on gravel roads and single-track trails, and find the Cloudultra to offer good support, cushion, and traction. I am sure I'm among the minority in disliking the extra room they added to the toe box in this version. I have narrow, low-volume feet and this shoe fits me better than other trail runners. However, with the extra room in the Couldultra 2, the fabric bunches a bit when I pull the laces tight at the front of the shoe. Still, this is the best I've found in terms of a solid trail runner that can handle the miles and terrain for narrow, low-volume feet. Shockingly, the nearly white fabric isn't showing the signs of dirt that I felt sure would happen either--the mesh material seems to repel that, which is a nice surprise.
I love on cloud shoes, I use them at work and for running. I tried these on in the REI store and loved them. However, the tread is too short. Hopefully they will create longer tread in the future.
The product was very bad, the size although it said number 9, I could not use it, the shoe is too small. I compared it with another product of the same brand and the size is wrong. I am in another country so it does not justify returning the product for the costs. I am very dissatisfied with the purchase.
These are by far probably one of my most favorite ons. I have a few pairs but these are supper soft all around. I like that the colors are a neutral gray with a very light blue undertone. They are so light that I forget that I have them on. Love them
The toe box of the cloudultras varies way too much between colors, meaning a prior years color that was built for narrow feet will not necessarily work in another years colors. I thought these were designed for narrow feet, but found myself painfully mistaken.
