worst shorts ever

The pads aren’t integrated into the liner and the liner isn’t integrated into the outer shorts. They are all just tacked together at two points. Once you wash these you’ll never get them back together correctly again. When I wash bike shorts I don’t have 30 minutes to spare putting them back together. I just threw these out and my life has immediately improved. Perhaps there’s a “trick “ to getting them assembled back to their original shape? You ask? Even so, I don’t want to be a clothing designer just to put my shorts back together every time wash them.

More like 1/? bike shorts weird liner thing

I fell for the Sale price. The shorts are fine. No pockets but lightweight and a good fit for slender people (5'7" 138lbs). The liner though is the worst. Too narrow for one thing so it slides over to favor one side pushing your parts to the other. And the legs, while very snug, travel north because there isn't any sort of grippy material holding them in place like other liners. Can't know unless you ride in them. We'll see if REI's awesome return policy extends to worn-once-and-washed shorts.

No external pockets

All good except for the lack of external pockets. I should have read the description better since I miss having those. The single pocket on the liner is okay, but not really good for a phone or anything since moisture will get to it.

runs small, padding moves around

I was expecting these to be normal but it was been a pain trying to keep the pad in place. The tights run small and dont feel very elastic

Worst Garment Ever

The outer shorts and liner are great. Nice profile, well made, good support, and great fit. The pad design, however, is a disaster. It was physically stitched onto the liner, and the stitches had to be ripped to get the pad out. This did some damage to the liner itself, which I'm sure will shorten the service life of the garment. The pad design makes this the Worst Garment Ever.

Good deal

Work for me. Seem to be a good deal, outer shorts are attached to the inner liner with pad. Use them to bike and spin at the gym. Comfy and look good.
