No I would not recommend
Pad to small and thin, so provides minimal padding. Pad should come up farther in front and overall need larger pad coverage area with thicker or more dense padding. Bathroom breaks a challenge as front lycra panel comes up too high. At 6' tall, large is to small as they run tight on shoulder at this size for me. Inseam is a personal preference but for me this should be longer.
Comfortable
Comfortable, but light padding. They are adequate for my riding needs.
Excellent Fit
Very nice fit and comfort. Can ride all day in these.
Lower quality but fair price
For the price, serviceable. I’ve ridden in many Pearl bibs but these are thin, short, and have a flimsy pad. If you are riding multiple hours, I’d suggest something else.
You get what you pay for.
Good quality construction, but chamois comfort was not up to my expectations for long rides. Also, shoulder straps were uncomfortable tight for a "large". Ordered elite bib shorts from Aerotech Designs (made in USA) that met all my expectation but at double the price. Lesson, you get what you pay for.
Works great for me!
I like these light, uncomplicated and comfortable bibs. They’re basic, functional bibs that are well worth the price. I’m about to buy a second pair.
Jury is still out…
From an initial visual perspective, it appears that PI has dumbed down the quality of their product. Maybe at this price point, it’s intended as an entry level intro to bibs. I was in a pinch and picked up a pair that fit. As for performance, the jury is still out.
Great! No diaper chamois for me!
These bibs have a thinner/simpler chamois than many others, and it doesn’t bunch up. I started my riding career in tri shorts with a thin fleece chamois, and never found a pair of comfy bibs until these. Maybe because I have the perfect saddle for me, I don’t need a thick chamois. In any case, I own multiple sets of these bibs, so I’m happy.
Just ok
I purchased two pairs of bib shorts a little over a year ago. I'm a moderate rider, 2 or so rides per week 60-80 total miles. Both shorts are now about worn out. I'm not that disappointed with the wear rate, though they weren't as durable as my previous Pearl Izumi shorts. More importantly, these didn't fit as well as my previous pair. I first ordered these as size medium. I'm 73" and slim. According to the sizing chart I was squarely in the medium range. However, the mediums were "crushingly" tight. I exchanged for size large, while that helped, they still never felt right. Perhaps size large had a larger leg opening, which means the leg grippers are not as effective and so they ride up more - I'm not sure... but when wearing these I'm frequently pulling and tugging to keep them comfortable. iP may have changed their design since I purchased these, but I would be hesitant to buy their shorts again. Probably the next short purchase I'll try in-store and if there is any doubt I'll get something else.
Padding's A Good Thing!
Never felt need of 'special' clothes for bicycling until I got serious late this year. Regular shorts aren't as comfortable on a road bike for a prolonged ride as these bib overalls I bought that have padding where it counts! I can stay out on the road longer without discomfort!
