Please note, this sizing chart is meant to serve only as a guideline.
Sizing downhill poles: Stand in your ski boots on a level floor. With your poles upside down—grips touching the floor—grab the pole beneath the basket so that the top of your thumb touches the basket. Your elbow should now be at a 90-degree angle. If the angle is less than 90 degrees, get a shorter pole. If the angle is greater, get a longer pole.
Sizing XC poles: Stand in your XC ski boots on a level floor. Place the pole tips on the floor next to your feet. The top of the grips should reach your arm pits.
Sizing skate poles: Stand in your skate boots on a level floor. Place pole tips on the ground with the pole shafts perpendicular to the floor. The poles should reach from the ground up to a point somewhere between your chin and your lips.

The swing weight is divine and the flip locks are trustworthy!! Great poles!!
This was a want purchase and I have no regrets. These are the lightest poles I’ve carried and I love the foam grips. I have the older carbon poles and didn’t think they could get much lighter, I was wrong. The reviews about the paint are right , it chips off easily but I don’t care so much about looks as performance. The wrist straps were easy to take off but I had to figure it out. There are no directions for that process. Love love love these, definitely worth it.
Ok, after 20 years out of albinism, a group of us ole timers planned a Rainier trip. In preparation, I bought these poles and did a few practice hikes. Big problems: 1) I had gained so much weight my pack didn't fit 2) nor did my gore-tex, 2) my knees and foot hurt so much it was nearly unbearable 3) much lesser folks pasted me with ease and kept asking if I was too hot or needed a rescue. As for the poles, the did not help me lose weight, and my wife and I still argue about watching YouTube videos of the Disappointment Clever at training. Anyway, yeah the poles, well they are hiking poles so in no possible way do they replace marriage therapy, fitness, sobriety, or moral values. But guys, please, please remember climbing is the source; it’s more than having fun. The poles are fine. Have some guts and publish this review.
These are my first dedicated ski poles. In the past, I've used my hiking poles with snow baskets attached. The two piece shaft and Flicklock Pro feel so much sturdier by contrast. The Flicklock engages strongly and is easy to use with gloves. The poles collapse just enough to stick on my 50L pack for transport. The only thing I would change is to make it easier to remove the wrist strap.
I've been using Vapor Carbon 2 ski poles for about 6 weeks. Pros: certainly very light, the length of the foam grip down the shaft is nice, and the flicklock adjustment works well. Cons: 1. the strap removal is very difficult to execute: one of mine came off randomly, I couldn't get it back on, and then when I was trying to remove the other, the little plastic clasp broke. 2. The neon green paint flakes off rapidly after they get scratched, leaving little green paint chips on your stuff. 3. The baskets are rigid and sharp, and the poles catch on crusty snow, tree branches, you ski tails, etc. 4. The rigid plastic grip head, designed "for manipulated bindings and buckles," would be more effective if it were rubberized. The slick green plastic just slides off metal binding/buckle parts. 5. Not really a gripe so much as a statement of preference, I wish the grip had a little more shape at the bottom of the palm, as pole plants feel a little vague with the relatively shapeless grip.
These are the best ski touring poles I have found. There is a subtle hand hold that most long grip poles don't have (folkrm, etc) that keeps your hand engaged to the pole. Super light weight and seem like a strong construction. Not sure why these aren't being made anymore so I bought another pair!
Love how light it is when I use alot during whistler! It doesn't fold fit in backpack but still retractable. The paint scrap off very easily but actually looks very cool . Bright green is great for safety too. Highly recommended if want lightweight pole yet strong
Love the extended foam grip. I do wish the very top was rubber or more “grippy” when I use it to adjust my risers. Love the simple design of the handles. Overall very happy with them and in fact have already bought my wife a pair. Great poles!
Poles are light, grip is versatile. I worry that higher impact mogul skiing may cause my hands to slide down the grips but should be great for the backcountry. Excited to try them. The baskets that come with them also could be a bit bigger
These poles are as light as they get, and perfect for groomed trails. The baskets are a little small for deep powder; I would probably use other poles for a backcountry trip, but, all things considered, I'm pleased with the purchase.
