Better than expected!

Thew clarity with the ChromaPop is amazing! The details truly do pop. I have a fair amount of eye fatigue and these glasses help to reduce the strain. My face is a bit small so I need a little smaller frame size. The Basecamp "fit" the bill...and the rest of my head. Totally like the reflective lens and the finish of Matte Gravy is terrific. Don't be fooled they don't look like gravy from thanksgiving. Great job SMITH!

Happy Camper!

The Basecamps, like all smith products, are top notch! The fit is snug enough to keep them on my face, while still comfortable. The polarized impact resistant lens technology make them ideal for a wide range of adventures. Their touch is so delicate, it’s easy to forget I’m wearing them. Highly recommended!

I’ve been using the Basecamps

I’ve been using the Basecamps here lately as my daily drivers. I bought them specifically for fishing and hiking. The polarization and clarity are far better than any other sunglasses I have owned in the past. Most sunglasses I have owned for over 5 years. We will see if these stand up to the test over the next for years. Love everything about the Basecamps other than they sit a little lower on my face than I prefer. It’s mostly because I have a smaller nose. It would be nice to see some frames in the future for people with smaller noses. I know that we can’t have everything but it sure would be nice to see what other features come out in the future. Keep up the good work Smith!

Great for all day use and trail running!

Very comfortable for all day wearing and no bounce when running! I have blue eyes and thus wear sunglasses all the time. I've owned a couple pairs of Goodr's, which are great for their price point, but I got tired of them wearing out after a couple years, so decided to bite the bullet and buy these Smith's. I use them for trail running, road running, driving and everyday use. They are so comfortable and lightweight that you can easily forget that you're wearing them. I don't notice any bounce when running. I almost always run with a hat, so that might help to eliminate bounce, but I did try them without a hat and there was the tiniest bounce when trail running downhill, but it was so minuscule that I had to think about it to notice it. The picture of the glasses showed the moss green lenses, but the description said "blue" lenses. I bought them on sale (which was still a stretch for my budget) so wasn't going to be too picky about which color showed up. They were indeed the "blue" lenses, which was actually my first preference, so in this case I'm glad the picture didn't match the description. I love the spring hinges, makes for easy on/off. Also absolutely love the ChromaPop! While this stretched my budget, I'm very happy with these sunglasses and trust they'll last a long time. If you're someone who takes care of your glasses and highly recommend investing in these Smith Basecamps.

Really nice frames and perfect amount of light blocking. Usually buy cheap glasses, these are definitely worth the extra.

Sweet shades:sunglasses:

I’ve been a diehard Oakley guy since I was a young buck. I’ve had tons of them and still do. I wanted an all purpose frame the I can use while running, mtbing, exploring the back country, and when on the water. I wanted the outlier but it was sold out in all the colors I liked. So decided to try the basecamp in the matte gravy with the bronze tint. They are soo sick. Went on a tough trail run and they stayed put! Was able to see fish while fishing very well. They fit me pretty good as I have a med-sm head size. I fill they hold the thin line between getting after it when breaking a sweat and chillin’ out after for a beer and bbq. Oh yeah… the lens tech has top notch clarity! might have jumped over to the SMITH side. :sunglasses::call_me_hand::skin-tone-4:

Comfortable yet stylish shades with excellent coverage.

I love these glasses. I had an older pair of Smith’s that needed replaced under warranty, and so I went with the tortoise Basecamp with turquoise lenses. They fit perfectly over the ears without squishing. The nose peace keeps them firmly on the face with no slipping, but doesn’t leave marks when taking them off. I can wear them for hours with no headache. The lenses are vary clear. They don’t wrap quite as much as my others, but I get excellent coverage for my sensitive eyes. And best of all, they were look really great on.

Great sun glasses

These fit myfacereally well, they have really good coverage in terms of blocking the rays and are lightweight. They do feel a bit fragile but im going out of my way to take care of these. I tried to go through SMITH themselves but the customer service doesn't compare to REI's.
