Jacket liner
Definitely not a coat . More of a liner to a coat. It’s so light you can fold it and put it in your pocket
Good quality, lightweight jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this jacket to replace my favorite Columbia winter jacket when the zipper finally gave out. I love the color and the fitted look, and the attached hood is much less cumbersome than the detachable one I had previously. It is super lightweight and great for 30-40 degree weather! I am a little more concerned about wearing it in colder weather. The material is much thinner than my previous jacket, and since it is very fitted so I can't fit many layers under it. It hasn't been cold enough for me to test this yet, but I'm not sure how it will do. If you are in a very cold climate, I would maybe choose a different jacket or go up a size to layer under!
this product was perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i bought this coat in Dec.of 2019 to wear to the cubs convention in chicago.i just knew it would be cold in Chicago the week -end of Jan.17-20 and i was right snow sleet and rain and -4 degrees walked 3 blocks evry day from hotel to convention center and was not one bit cold this coat is so warm and so lite weight i had my doubts boy was i wrong love this coat i highly recommend it i weight 107# and i bought a med.fit perfect.if you need a lite weight very warm coat buy this one. thank you Columbia
Extremely Lightweighted Coat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ordered in a size medium, was not as form fitting nor flattering, which is what was desired for a longer coat. Ordered Medium for layering, lost flattery. Nice amount of room in the chest area to zip without that pressed look. The sleeve is gathered with trim and hits right at wrist, prefer longer loose-ended sleeve length. Although coat is paper thin, it does keep u warm? Omniheat technology is all the rave! The color black is more along the line of a nice matte, not garbage bag black! Returned to try my luck at a size small. 5’5”, 130lbs, slim/athletic build, slim long waistline transitions into hips, 32B bust.
great purchase
This jacket arrived quicker than expected. The quality is great. This is NOT a heavy duty snow weather jacket. It is for cold weather but more on the lighter side. The quality of fabric was great. The color was crisp and for the money it was a great purchase. For the deep cold weather purpose it can be layered up with clothing so you could use it with more brisk cold snow weather. It is great with the zip which allows you to drive and have the comfort of the bottom zipper to be zipped up yet keep the coat on in the car and move and sit in comfort. This is a great choice you will not be disappointed
Softest jacket!
The reason I’m giving it a 4 is because like the picture it makes you look huge. But guess what theres 2 zippers so you can make your self look unhuge. you can put the zippers in the middle so it make it more form fitting. The coat is jet black beautiful. I returned it and got the shorter version. I got the long heavenly instead. But all around if I could of kept it I would the short I know I’ll keep and if this jackets around next year I’ll get it because I wish I didn’t return it. For the feeling of it it feels great like a little down blanket. Another thing all the review were doubled so I thought I’d give my opinion. If you like down this is a good coat when you can play with the sippers
Not quite what I expected
Pulled it out of the clear bag it came in and was surprised at how thin it was. Advertised as a down jacket but couldn't feel it when squeezing it with my hand...and definitely didn't feel it when putting it on. Feels more like a long windbreaker jacket to me. I know lightweight and less bulk is the big selling point nowadays but this was TOO light for me. Also noticed that many of Columbia's coats/jackets don't have drawstrings. Not sure why but would be great if they did. I see that as a basic feature for any coat or jacket, especially designed to be down/insulated.
Skinny jeans for arms?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered an XL because I like room in the shoulders. While the body was too wide, the arms particularly at the elbow were too tight. I couldn't bend them all the way. Example: Reaching behind you to pull the hood on without popping a seam. I was wearing only a long sleeve tee. I can understand this sort of tapering in sweaters with stretchy fabrics. But it is not functional in a jacket. The shoulders and arm holes will accommodate a sweater, the body will accommodate a pregnancy, but the arms will only accommodate a pair of sticks. Returned it!
Thin
I purchased this coat last month. It has a super thin feel. I’m seriously wondering if the feather count is accurate. Also, they run small so size up. I’m 5’4” 130 LBS. I purchased the medium, tall. It was a lil snug in the hip area but the length in body and arms were just right and I’m by no means classified as tall or plump. I’ve been in weather conditions with temps as low as 26* F, cold rain, heavy wind and I stayed fairly warm WITH a layer. However, and again, the fit was a bit snug without the layer so I felt like the lil child whose mom dresses them in 1000 layers and can barely move. I gave it to my daughter. She’s the same height, weighs 125LBS and it fits perfectly on her. Won’t be sending it back for that reason but I’m back on the hunt for a coat.
Does NOT run true to size
I always wear a size 16 womens, or an XL. I've tried on Columbia puffer coats in the past, and they always run small. I was excited when I found this one that said it ran true to size.....but when I got it, I could barely get it zipped. You might be wondering if I wear my clothes tight, and that's why an xl didn't fit....no, I wear clothes loose, as I don't like wearing anything that is hard to zip, or uncomfortable. I definitely recommend that you size up if you buy this coat. Otherwise, it seems like a great coat.
