It is small and light, but the design is not sloppy. In addition to the design reminiscent of Quickdraw, from power buttons with a very clean finish to rubber sealing on battery connections. What a little fella I love!
It's a fairly slim light that fits well in the pocket and compliments the key chain. I took off the carabiner to do so. I like the twisting lock (on/off) mechanism, but had to be careful to twisting and feeling resistance. I can only assume forcibly twisting it the wrong way doesn't end well. You can control the brightness by simply holding the button down where it will cycle from dim to bright- bright to dim. It's bright for a battery powered (non-rechargeable) keychain light. I have tried using a rechargable key chain light (with much higher lumens) in the past, but I found myself not charging it occasoinally, therefore not having light when I needed it. So this light has worked pretty well.
This was on sale at a great price and bought a bunch for family & friends. The light is useful as it is adjustable in brightness and I can turn it on with my teeth if I'm carrying bags in the other hand. It uses a mechanical switch rather than an electronic switch extending the battery life (electronic switches decrease life by a fair amount in my experience). It also keeps holes from forming in my pocket. I can attach my keys via the carabiner to a belt loop which is more accessible. The length of the strap between the light and carabiner allows a great fit in my hand, so I can swap either side to hold the light or access my keys without discomfort.
Not a huge fan of this product, which sucks. The sliding/dim feature is super glitchy and doesnt really ever work.
I bought four of these and they were worth every penny. The locking mechanism is very clever and ensures no accidental turn-ons to run down the battery. The light is just bright enough for anything you would need with a 40 lumens light. The end (whether by design or not) is the perfect shape to hold in your teeth if needed. Now for a suggestion...make a version that has a RED LED as well and I'll buy another half dozen. These things are PERFECT to hang around the tent or cab of your truck, etc etc., but a red LED would be really nice in the pitch dark. Good stuff as always.
Perfect for finding the keyhole in the dark, quickly needing something out of your vehicle or out camping looking for that one item that isn't where you last left it
First off the wife and I use BD & Petzel headlights so we understand there may be different button presses to turn on & off, etc. Bought the first one as a stocking stuffer, wife and I tried every twist/button push combo w a tiny flicker of light once. Returned it to REI today and got a replacement, SUCCESS!!!! for 1 second, then NADA. How disappointing, we will not be exchanging this time, just getting a refund, and choosing other brand lighting in the future.
Just hang in your backpack and save energy for your principal headligths. Awesome product.
Add one to all my backpacks. Buying more for our twin"s backpacks.
Normally bd stuff is awesome but I went through 2 of these and they both quit working shortly after buying
