Habit 5

Great bike! Rookie review. Upgraded from a Specialized hardtail Rockhopper. First noticed head tube 66 degree angle. Turns differently than the Rockhopper with 70 degree angle. Makes up hill and down hill really nice. Turns with a different feel when winding on flat trails. Rode my regular trail and peddle strikes were much more frequent. 4 to 5 strikes versus few normally. Suspension is amazing! Wider wheels (2.5 in front) and 29 rims feel great. Dropper seat post was a great addition for downhill and adjustments during a ride. 11-46 rear cog, with the 32t front sprocket made hills much easier than on my prior bikes. Shifted beautifully. I bought expensive peddles, and found that large flat peddle with pegs was a great upgrade. Overall, the best bike I have owned (specialized, Fisher and GT). Worth the money.

UPDATED REVIEW FROM PREVIOUS BIKE!!!!

Perfect. The Previous same Bike HABIT 5 had a serious issue with the leaky brake, I have been to REI about 7 times, something among those lines to get this fixed. They would not swap out the part. I ended up returning the bike. However buying the same one since it was 800 dollars cheaper. All through the trails minus jumping off of stuff. Water Mud, Heavy Rain, Dirt. No complaints!!! Brakes are working fine. I have been to 3 REI shops. REI FENWAY BOSTON SET ME RIGHT!!!!

Absolutely a fantastic ride.

Such a blast to ride this bike. By far one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to ride. Handles everything you throw at it. Only down side, I don't get more days off to right. Outstanding performance and ride.

First full Suspension Bike - Very Pleased

After 10 years with the same hard tail, I decided it was time to make the jump to a modern, full suspension bike. This bike checked all my boxes: Full suspension, 29er, 1x shimano drive train. I got it at the sale price which is really hard to beat with this build spec. Other bikes in this price range weren't doing it for me. This bike is a capable of a little bit of everything. I can do downhill sections if I want or climb for days. It climbs quite well for an aluminum full suspenison

Bomb proof

This bike was an upgrade from a Specialized Rockhopper. I had immediate confidence on sketchy trails with it. I ride the bike hard in all weather conditions. I've crashed hard a few times too. The Habit 5 just keeps going. It's like a tank that you can jump with!
