PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.

I bought my first pair of these pants in Fall 2017. I LOVE them. They’re stylish and practical. I even wear them running in cool weather, too. Some others have complained that they get baggy or saggy, and honestly, I did see someone in a saggy pair at the grocery store once, but I’ve never had a problem with mine sagging. Maybe because I wash mine regularly, or because I have a round butt, but either way, it’s never been an issue for me and I recently bought my second pair. I almost didn’t want to write a review because I don’t want them to sell out again, but I guess two pairs will hold me over for a while. ;)
I am currently on the Camino de Santiago and cannot say enough about the fit, durability, ease of care, and overall utility of my Screeline Hiking Tights. They wash and dry beautifully. The straight legs keep them from mud and dirt build-up. Their durable friction points help keep down wear from boots. The two, deep side pockets are a must for iPhone, maps, headphones, or money - so secure! If you spend a lot of time outdoors and want a great pant for the job, please buy these leggings.
I haven't put these through much abuse yet, but they've served me well on hikes down to 40 degrees (while layered up on top with fleece and puffy, these were fine on their own). The pockets easily fit my phone with room to spare, and the material is substantial. There was only minimal shape loss, so I really didn't need to tug on them at all. I have a 28" waist and 39" hips, and medium fits fine - only slightly loose in the crotch. I'd probably prefer a tighter fit but couldn't get the small over my hips. I'm 5'9" and they were long enough for me. This might not be what I grab for hot-weather hiking, but anything below 80 and these are the top of the pile.
I bought a size small (I'm 110 lbs & 5'1") -pretty sure I could have worn the x smalls, but didn't want these glued to my sweaty legs. Super comfortable for all 3 days of my backpack (high temps of 70,lows in the 40's) With my waist of 28 and hips 37 these didn't get loose or need hiking up,even on the 3rd day. As another reviewer wrote about not noticing her thighs-I concur! Super comfortable. These will not work for late spring/summer/fall here in balmy southern Califonia though-too warm. Tough, stretchy and with a narrow ankle I could tuck into my Darn Tough knee socks to defeat ticks!
I've used these tights for trail hiking and urban running. They wick moisture like a champ and the side pockets fit my large cell phone and a trail map easily. They worked best in cool weather as a sole layer. I also tried them out in below freezing temps under my hiking pants and they became a nice, warm-but-wicking underlayer. Styling and articulation is good, the fit is snug but not too snug, and the ankle openings aren't overly tight. I've washed and dried them a couple of times and they've just become softer - no noticeable shrinkage. I wasn't sure about the side panels at first - I thought they might be too thick and cumbersome, but once I had them on I liked the brush protection and snag prevention they offer.
These pants are awesome! I love the pockets. The materials are placed in the right spots to avoid getting scratched and tearing. The fit is great! The material is a good thickness for a range of temperatures.
I loved that these had pockets and the strategic reinforced fabric near the ankles, but the fit of these is unbearable! They are tight when I pull them over my hips, but super loose around the waist once they're on. There's a ton of space in the front pelvic region and not quite enough in the butt, resulting in horrific sagging of the front crotch as you move. I had to hike them up about a million times during a short run - I felt like I'd need suspenders to keep them in the appropriate position while being active. I really wanted to like these, but the fit makes them unbearable.
Love having tights for hiking and these really work well. With 2 pockets that are really, really long, you will have plenty of room to carry your phone, small camera, snacks, etc. They are pretty warm so not for spring or summer hiking. However, they do feel good while hiking. I am 5'4, 140 lbs, thick thighs, and size medium fit easily but little long. I knew small would just be way too tight!
Perfect for hiking in rough terrain. These pants fit really well for a tall woman. (I'm 5'8".) I love the extra long pockets for keys, phone, and other lightweight essentials. I put my wedding rings in there and felt confident they wouldn't fall out. The fabric around the ankles is excellent for scrambling and climbing against rough surfaces and maintains its integrity. I've worn these in three times on different hikes in the Mojave Desert and several times in the Ozark Mountains. I even wear them as a weekend pant, I love them so much. (Paired with a long tunic, they're really cute!) I just ordered another pair in the Army Green. If REI makes a third color, I'dorder those, too!
I bought these in size XS (5’4” 120lbs) to wear on a camping/ hiking trip last summer. I was thrilled to find hiking tights but these just didn’t work. For starters it’s like they were made for 6ft tall women and up— I’m all legs and not only were the pant legs really bunched up around my ankles, the waist band came up almost to my rib cage. Additionally they felt like they were on backwards— WAY too tight across the butt and I’m pretty small back there. Sizing up just made the crotch baggy and the length even more unbearable while still being weirdly tight across the butt. I really wish these worked because the quality is awesome and the pockets were great too, unfortunately the fit was way too weird for an average size person.
