This is literally my favorite piece of gear that I own, next to my thermarest, and hubba hubba. The spoon shape is amazing, as I tend to flop around like a beached trout when I sleep. The indicated temperature rating is spot on. I spent a week backpacking Great Sand Dunes NP last week, and temps dropped below 20 when a delightful blizzard came through. I was toasty as could be. The 800-fill insulation makes this bag luxuriously plush, and the little flap around the collar makes it feel like you're literally sleeping underneath a warm blanket. I'm also learning to love the pillow pocket, stuffing my clothes for the next day, and then my puffy inside makes for amazing head support, and forgoes the uncomfortable task of putting on freezing cold clothes the following morning. The only downside I can find with this, is that it doesn't compress as small as my other bags. Getting a compression sack would probably help, but I'm not really interested in carrying any additional weight. tldr: Buy this bag, and be warm and happy.
This is my first Nemo product and I couldn't be happier!! I am super picky about sleeping bags when it comes to quality and fit. I need room to move but I do not want to give up quality, comfort or light weight. The comfort of the shape alone is amazing!! The quality of the materials is second to none!! The treated dry Down and water proof foot box are just bonus with no weight penalty. This bag also has the ability to vent some heat on warmer nights through the thermal vents and the neck baffle, extending the use of this bag. It it almost like having two bags in one. I've already recommended this series of bags to friends of mine!!
I have always struggled a little with mummy bags. I have always been a stomach sleeper with one knee kicked out or sprawled on my side. The Nemo bag was just what I was looking for adding space in the knee and shoulder area creating my perfect sleeping environment. The coated foot area became somewhat wet overnight with continued contact against my tiny tent walls but the inside remained dry. I did not notice the integrated pillow pouch in the head area until the next morning but will try stuffing a sweatshirt or inflatable pillow in there next time. The draft flap on the upper portion is a dream, love it. Very happy with this product.
Amazing comfort for wide temperature range. Unzipping the vent baffles really does make a difference. Used a Northface Ibex bag for over 40 years. Either I got larger or the bag shrank. I found it just too constricting for a comfortable nights sleep. Perfectly comfortable for side sleeping in temps ranging from mid 20'-low 40's Even had room to slide my cold little mutt into the bag when temps dipped below freezing. Haven't used it a low temp range yet but was not even close to cold when used in the 20's No reason to expect a problem at 15 degrees. appreciated the internal sleeve for pillow. Really love this bag
Very happy with this bag. I used it on a ten day trek at Philmont and recently on an OA ordeal sleeping under the stars at 28 degrees. I am cold natured and with wool thermals and liner, I was very toasty at 28F. I move around alot, sleep on my side, and sleep on my back with one ankle tucked underneath the other knee. There is room enough to in this bag to do that. I really like the product. It could use a little more room in the head area for a larger pillow. The draw string does pull a little tight across the forehead when pulled tight to close up the bag. But that is the only negative I can come up with. Great bag.
I've owned this sleeping bag since February now, I have used it mostly during summer and fall temperatures, with the occasional below 30. No matter the temperature, I have slept comfortable. I have a tendency to move around ALOT. So I typically avoid mummy bags. This spoon shape is perfect for me, it keeps me restricted but gives me some space to twist my body around like a weirdo. Also, it packs super small, super light, and its perfect for backpacking. For the record, My wife has recently been looking at the Jam15, the female version of this sleeping bag.
I bought this bag a month ago and have used its a few times. Since then it has gotten rained on once (while I was still in it) and it was completely dry within the hour. It's great for back packing (very compact/ light weight) and incredibly warm.
I am 62 and have always been active. Just returned from my first ever, Idaho elk and mule deer hunt (Late October, 2017). Out of five hunters, I was the only one who HAD to sleep in the buff. This bag is awesome! All other bags leave you with cold feet or other irritating results.
I was introduced to Nemo products last year at the outdoor expo. I love their products and can't wait until they come out with more. When they say this is a 15 degree bag, it really is!
I did all my research on the side sleeper and this bag delivers. I use it in Utah for a week where the weather dropped into the low 40s high 30s at night worked very well. It's just a different kind of bag and if you use it you will know why I strongly recommend everyone to try it out.
