Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING jacket- getting another one! This is the best jacket I've ever bought from Northface. I am very pleased with the Conifer color. I also love the fit of this jacket. It is the perfect length and it is very flattering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this jacket! This jacket is super comfortable and the conifer teal color is gorgeous! It is a bit darker than in the photo, as mentioned by a previous reviewer. My favorite thing aside from how nice it looks is the hidden cinch elastic in the front pockets. I have rather large hips and this is the only jacket I've found that really works with my hourglass figure. Also, the cinch elastic feature ensures that the bottom of the jacket will not ride up. Love it! I also love the chest pocket - so handy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I returned it. :( I got a medium hoping it would be a little big on me. It was VERY big on me. I also didn't like the texture of the coat at all. It was quite warm and lightweight but it felt like plastic. I returned it the next day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Very Warm I picked this jacket out as a Christmas gift and was really looking forward to it. I love the color and fit of the jacket, but it is not any warmer than my thermoball jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for these warm to cold February days I've been eyeing this jacket for sometime, just waiting for the perfect weather to get me to commit. Recently in Philadelphia, the weather will be very cold in the morning and as the day goes on, it gets warmer and warmer, by nightfall it's freezing. Despite how lightweight and airy this jacket is, it's ideal for the transitioning weather throughout the day. I've had it for two days and I can say with confidence that for walking around in the city, and from class to class: I can't imagine using another jacket. The fit is impeccable! I never thought I would prefer the alpine fit to the relaxed, but it just allows me to layer more & offers a great fitted look. My jacket is in the metallic silver color, and I purchased this at the Walnut St. store. The color is so subtly grey and not shiny/metallic at all. Also, the color matches; what you see online and what ya get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unscathed after sliding 50ft down a ski slope I went skiing wearing only this jacket and not my shell. A snowboarder came out of nowhere and we collided, sliding 50+ft down a steep, icy slope. I was on my back headfirst and thought for sure my jacket would be ripped to shreds. There was no sign of my accident even happening (besides my black eye)!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT JACKET As mentioned above.. really light and thin but warm. Wish there was a hoodie to enhance the purpose in the upper neck area especially for the price it is worth comparing it to the gotham jacket which does have a hoodie and it is about the same price. It is also a little darker shade than on the picture

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Both warm AND lightweight Extremely warm and wind proof while also feeling lightweight and breathable. It's hard to find a jacket that satisfies all of those conditions! Would buy again

What is alpine fit?

Asked by: Curlyqueen
Alpine fit is similar to an active fit. It is closer to the body and will provide better movement.

how does this down jacket compare to the patagonia's down sweater jacket?

Asked by: jhuff51
The two jackets are very similar. Both jackets use a high quality down and have a water repellent finish, and both jackets are very lightweight.
