I love this coat but be aware- it is only 600 FP, NOT 700. Also the pockets are in the weirdest location; up near your armpits. Not the typical hip area. It runs a little small as well. I ordered a large and it's a little snug, when typically a large would be loose on me.
Wanted to get a head start and get my winter coat early this year before the good ones sold out! I love this coat. I was glad I sized up since I tried it on wearing a sweatshirt and it fit comfortably!! For reference, usually I wear a small size in shirts and I ordered a medium. (Also with wide hips I fully recommend sizing up) all in all, very happy with this purchase and have always been a fan of their winter coats.
I am 5' 3" 145lbs and ordered a small because I ordered another jacket in medium and it was extremely large. This jacket however, was extremely SMALL. I have hips and well the jacket would not come close to enough to zip. There was at least a 5 inch gap to get to the zipper. The upper body was ok but the fit was awkward. Not meant for a person with hips.....which lots of women have. Size up if you have hips.
I really like this coat. It is warm and true to size I also like the color even though I was looking for a darker brown. It is a nice and soft color. It goes really well with the hat that is the same color.
I love the idea of this coat, but when I put it on, upper body is roomy but too narrow in the lower half. I'm average frame, 5'6 and weigh/128 lbs. It's unfortunate, I was really hoping this would work out.
Great quality you expect from The North Face! A little lighter than expected but so far I've worn it on a windy day in New York and it passed the test! Hoping the light weight feel holds up to cold weather.
Who designed the pattern for this jacket? Is it meant for men? The pattern is made for a male body shape - narrow hips, broad shoulders. Terrible cut. Don't make this kind of pattern anymore.
This coat is perfect for the colder winters and I love the removeable hood. I got the Tawny Quartz and it was more purple than I expected as I was looking for brown. Overall, still a great buy!
This is an outstanding jacket. It is just the right length to wear with slacks or a dress and booties.I sized up as others suggested and it is a perfect fit.
Extremely awkward fit - the fit was very tight near the hips and does not work well for curvy people. Ordered a M (sized up) and it was too tight.
