Great if you set it up properly

I initially had the same reaction as a number of reviewers here; that the grommets on the footprint are longer than the tent grommets making for a sloppy fit. I contacted Big Agnes about this issue and this is actually by design. The proper way to set up the footprint is to stake out the footprint via the loops, then "stretch" the main body of the assembled tent out to meet the grommets in the staked out footprint (there is plenty of flexibility in the tent poles to do this), then finally clip the rain fly clips into the footprint clips. The result is that the floor of the tent is stretched out perfectly to all corners and the tent is secure from the wind, a much neater pitch than without the footprint! It would be nice however for them to include and instruction sheet with the tent indicating this.

Grommet spacing doesn't match tent
Mike

On our first use of the tent we discovered that the footprint doesn’t fit the tent very well, even though this is supposed to be the specific footprint for this tent. The footprint is just too big, and there is no way to adjust it. The grommets keep falling off the tent poles. After our first camping trip my wife has had to take tucks in the ribbons to shorten them, but the grommets still fall out. This never happened on our previous tent (different manufacturer, with a perfect fit). What a waste of $70, which is way more than should be charged for a footprint anyway. Don’t waste your money on it. A piece of Tyvek would work better.

Keeps the tent dry when setting up in the rain.

I got this to go with my new tent and it worked perfectly. On a recent weekend I was able to setup the rainfly and poles first using the footprint while it was raining. The clips worked fine. After that I could setup the tent underneath without it getting wet. When it was time to pack up and go home the bottom of the tent was still mostly clean so packing was easy.

Works

This footprint does what it's supposed to and it's pretty light doesn't take much room in the pack. Four stars because when you put the tent up and the poles go through the tent then the foot print. The poles won't really stay in the foot print holes but it didnt move around under the tent. The poles do stay when you do the fast fly setup with just the footprint and the rainfly.

Size doesn't match tent, as others have said.

I bought this for the fast fly setup, and just to get matching equipment. The size of the footprint itself is perfect, but the straps that have the grommets are way too long so they can't be used with the tent. This is unacceptable for a product designed to specifically work with a matching branded product, and especially for $70! You'd be better off using a piece of tarp, Tyvek, or any generic footprint.

Only fits the HV UL2 if you McGuyver it.

The size of the footprint is perfect but the grommets absolutely do not match the HV UL2's tent poles, which was the reason I bought this.

Perfect footprint for this model

Great lightweight footprint for the Copper Spur UL2 HV or Copper Spur UL2 HV MNTGlo. If you don't have the HV models, do not buy it! :)

Clips do not match

I bought this footprint for my Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2. I was excited to try out the fast fly configuration only to find out that the clips for the tent do not match the clips for the footprint. I was able to make it work but the clips get stuck together and are very difficult to take apart. I will not be using the fast fly configuration again anytime soon. Very frustrating! Maybe I ordered the wrong one or something?

is this supposed to fit?

I bought this last summer and ended up not using it. Preparing to hike the Oregon section of the PCT in July and thought I would give it a run. This foot print is quite a bit bigger than my tent base, Copper Spur HV UL2 , and I am not sure it would truly do me any good in the wet weather. I bought a cheap piece of TYVEK and cut to fit and saved myself $66.
