I wore these boots twice, and after walking to work the second time I was standing in my office when the entire block heal fell off. Luckily I hadnt thrown out my 10+ year old Sorel winter boots yet. Returned the slimpacks no problem and now I am once again looking for new winter boots.

Style, Comfort but lacking craftsmanship

Started wearing boots in December 2019 and worn 95% of the time in the city in Iowa. Unfortunately, the faux 'wood/leather' that wraps the heel started to peel. When pulling the boots on one morning the pull tab ripped off. Finally, as of March 2019 the glue adhering the heel to the boot is coming undone. Four months in and the boots haven't even survived one winter.. Boots are comfortable, warm and stylish but the severe lack of craftsmanship will make us look elsewhere.

Falls apart in less than 10 wears!

DO not buy these. Both heels are peeling off because they aren’t real wood heels, they are fake wood looking material that they GLUED on. Sorel’s warranty makes you pay as the consumer to shop their defective boots back where they ultimately will decide in 2-4 weeks (possibly longer if it is peak season aka winter) to see if they will cover your boots. Not to mention, I would never even want a replacement of these. They were $145 for the quarry grey color and don’t even make it through a winter.

Fell apart quickly - defective?

I bought these boots in late November for the upcoming winter. By the end of December the heel had began to disintegrate, the outer “wood grain” covering and the portion that is in contact with the cement. Much of it rubbed off quickly, worsening the boots traction. I should have returned them but living far from an REI and not being able to afford to walk around in regular shoes in frigid winter conditions made returning these difficult. I expected better from Sorel, as I’ve loved many of their products in the past. Bummer!

LOVE THESE BOOTS!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im a huge Sorel fan and have several pairs of shoes. I primarily work in the outdoors and the LACE DUCK BOOTS are the ticket. They have some warmth for when I am working in colder weather and because I am in high grass that is sometimes wet they keep the moisture out. They are also stylist and Ive gotten many compliments on them. I orderd a 1/2 size up and They still are slightly small so I would recommend a full size up.

Not as small as reviewed by others

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, I loved the boot. It is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, also light! I bought it in the color of quarry, black a full size up than I normally do (7.5 instead of 6.5) based on what other people reviewed. It fits a bit snug, so I realize if I bought it as a 7 it may have been too tight, but the 7.5 is slightly big in length. I also have very wide feet so I think if I didn't and had more average proportionate feet a size 7 or even 6.5 would've been a good fit. Overall I will probably just either add soles to the boots or wear thicker socks to make the size fit better, and I loved them all the same.

Perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these boots to wear on a recent trip to Iceland! Wore them everyday and they were perfect! They were warm enough with a pair of wool socks, kept my feet dry when i fell off a rock into a stream! and kept my traction off other unsteady ground. I went up a 1/2 size from my usual size...might have been able to go up a full size if i was wearing heavier socks, but they worked out really well!

Love these boots!

I came across the Redwood colored boots in store one day and fell in love. Beautiful color! Had to have them, but they didn't have them in stock so I ordered them in my size (8.5) and they arrived a bit tight. Re-ordered a 9 and they are a perfect fit even with smart wool socks underneath. Wore them all day today, so comfy. Shoveled snow in them for about an hour and my feet weren't cold. Then wore them out running errands and they were perfect. I have a nice pair of Timberland snow boots that are great in heavy snow but a little too bulky to wear out casually. These were exactly what I was looking for.

Lovely Design, Quality Material, but Poor workmanship

Really want to give these boots a 5 star as I really love the colour (Redwood) and the design. The materials are of very good quality but the workmanship is a big let down. There are broken/overlapped seams all over on one of the boots, and the sewing work is not of great quality as the base of one tongue (where it joins the front top of the shoe) is bulging out underneath the shoe laces while the other tongue creases (as shown in pictures). One probably wouldn't have noticed all these details until they try the shoes on. I hope they will improve their quality control.
