Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Idea, Poor Execution Lightweight, flexible gloves. Comfortable to wear and able to use fingers, unlike heavier gloves. Only good down to about 40 degrees if you are going to be out for extended periods of time, unless you are doing heavy exercise. Very good grip, especially for driving and turning door knobs. Has some quality issues. A few of the fingers had the seams in the wrong place and didn't line up with the sides of my fingers. This is the 2nd pair of REI brand gloves I have bought with this issue. The grippy part started coming off after less than 2 weeks of light use. Due to the quality issues, I chose to return them and buy a pair of North Face Etip gloves, which are not as grippy, but have a higher build quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from decent gloves, good price My son lost the liners for his burton ski gloves and these were the first thing I found that seemed comparable. He mostly uses them as cool weather gloves for soccer, since he doesn't ski so often these days. Anyway, these gloves have some grippy material on them, like the previous ones did, which is needed to grip the ball for throw-ins. Anyway, these aren't super-special, but fill the need quite adequately and I got them for around $19 after taxes. Had them delivered to the store and picked them up since I work near the "flagship" seattle store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm light duty liner I bought these prior to a cold weather backpacking trip to the Smokies in November as a stand-alone hiking glove as well as a liner for my REI waterproof shell gloves. They were plenty warm in temps to the low 20s, and fit nicely under my shell gloves. They are a little thicker than what you would think of as normal 'liner' gloves, and do offer a little bit of wind protection. As a 2 part waterproof system these worked well and I could leave bulkier options at home. I hiked in these for 3 days and the silicone 'grippers' on the palm and fingers started to wear off. This was from use with trekking poles and around camp and I was a little surprised at how quickly they wore. A bit (1/4 inch) of stitching on a seam has come loose too, but I still wear these frequently. Would have rated higher for better durability but I would think of these as a heavy-duty liner that works well on its own. Expect to last a season of frequent use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted 1 week I really liked these gloves at first, the balance of warmth and size was perfect for me. I run a little hot usually so didn't need anything really bulky. These come with a nice grip on them so you can use them outdoors, then drive with them and not worry about slippage. I wore them for about a week really happy with my purchase, but then the grip started to peel off and I returned them. After a week of daily use the grip started to peel off a few of the fingers and had begun on the palm. I returned them an bought another pair. Another frustrating thing about these is the ability to use them on a touch screen only lies in a few of the fingers. I think it was the thumb, index and possibly middle. It's hard enough using a phone with muppet hands and nice when you can use all the fingers like on the new pair I've purchased.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from same defect twice in otherwise good glove I am giving the benenfit ofthe doubt with three stars. I got these gloves in December and by March there was a spontaneous rip devloping on the thumb of one glove in the seam. The gloves were otherwise fine. They were light, reasonably wind resistant and warm. REI was very good, as uual, about trading for a new pair. In two weeks I now have a rip in the exact same seam. I plan to return these and find a different pair.pair of gloves.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for some things These gloves fit well and work pretty well, but the rubber grip strips were overly sticky to begin with and now are coming off after not much use (maybe because they're too sticky?). If they could figure out a way to let a steering wheel slide through the glove without the grips coming off, think they would have it nailed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great base for cold days I wear these under my Dakine winter gloves for extra warmth. Also great for everyday use/warmth. Very grippy, which I like. And the touch screen capability is nice. Great deal for the money.
