Outstanding Adventure Gear for Kids
This puffy has kept my 7 year old daughter safe and warm to the top of Mount Saint Helens and Mount Adams. Though it's the "boys" model, it fits her great. I am very thankful Marmot creates quality gear for kids that is every bit as good as the adventure clothing made for adults. If you're a parent looking at this jacket and wondering if it's worth the price, it is!

Everything we needed for this alaskan Winter
We live in Alaska, so my 4-yr old needed some warm gear to play in the snow in negative temps. He loves this jacket, it really keeps him warm and the colors are awesome! The blue looks very cute on him and we get a lot of compliments for the jacket.

Warmest jacket ever
Marmot makes the warmest jackets ever! I feel confident sending my child out into the snow with her Marmot jacket on.

SO Warm and Comfortable!!
I bought this for my 12 1/2 year old son. Prior to this purchase, I was grateful to the other comments saying how warm this jacket is. I think we get so used to buying jackets over and over and still end up cold that when my son needed to put on his new jacket, he was skeptical. After about a minute had gone by, my son looked at me and said, "oh my gosh, I am SO warm! I love this jacket, thank you mom!" Not to mention, his older brothers friends were over and complemented him on his new jacket. Now my husband, 14 year old son and myself all want one too! :)). Thank you Marmot for making a quality jacket!!

Great jacket - except for the color
My son has worn Marmot jackets like this for years, and this would have been the 4th blue Marmot for him. Each season we would buy a new one, and in his favorite color blue. But today we received this year's "blue" - which is labeled Royal Night/Enamel Blue -- and both colors on the jacket couldn't be further from the shade blue! The Royal Night is PURPLE, and the Enamel Blue is TEAL GREEN. And no, it's not the lighting in my house, sadly, we held it up in full sun. Will a 12 year old boy wear a purple and green snow jacket? Nope. Super bummed. Back it goes... and we make the switch to boring and unremarkable black. (Which will make it exceedingly hard to pick him out of the crowd on the hill - or wherever, which makes this mama very unhappy.) Hopefully the quality is still the same. Pic includes last year's blue jacket for comparison. Yikes!

Patagonia quality for less $$
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice winter jacket! I bought for my kindergartener and it keeps him very warm. We are in MN so winters are cold. We have negative temps waiting for the bus sometimes. The size S is a little big, but he loves it and it might fit for 2 years since it has room to grow. I have primarily bought the patagonia hi loft down previously, he still fits okay in his 5T one but it was getting a tad short. I love patagonia bc it can be handed down and stays looking brand new. However, the marmot one is quite a bit cheaper than the hi loft down boys patagonia and seems to be just as high quality! He’s been wearing it for about a month. Hoping it holds up just as well and can be passed down!

Excellent Warmth, poor zipper
I bought two of these jackets in February 2016. It is now Nov. 2016 and the children fit into them. The jacket is very puffy and very warm and looks sharp. Unfortunately the zipper is a cheap plastic that gets warped and zipper gets stuck often. Sometimes the zipper can't even latch together for zipping. I had to fidget with zipper for 5 minutes and prayed before it finally caught on for zipping up. Why Marmot chose this cheap plastic I don't know. It's like putting the cheapest tires on a Cadillac. The jacket is beautiful, puffy, and very warm. I have absolute confidence sending my kids out into the Alaska wind and cold with this jacket. Wish the zipper was better quality, though.

Not what was pictured
I ordered the black coat in the pic I got a black one that was thin and looks nothing like the pic so disappointed I was going to purchase another one if it was good after reading the reviews I was hyped now I’m really disappointed

Perfect jacket for my kid
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was his go-to jacket this winter regardless of weather. We live in the PNW and it was good for occasional snow as well as out typical rainy but mild day. Kept it’s puff through the season. I want one!!

Best puffy for kids
My boy is 9 and this is his second Guides Down Hoody. They take a beating and they are well designed with quality materials.
