Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tighten Twice for Hot Liquids! Great bottle - Has kept tea hot, like burn your lips hot, for over 8 hours in an outside pack pocket while in the alpine zone at -15F in the White Mountains. Would be a 5 star product except the top WILL leak if you don't tighten, tip bottle to make sure hot liquid is in contact with the plastic top, wait for the lid to heat up (bottle will start to leak), and then retighten. After that there is no leak problem. This is just a fact of physics - the plastic cap has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than the stainless steel bottle - so there isn't much that can be done about it, but this limitation should be noted to purchasers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST INVESTMENT WITH LIQUIDS Bought this product about 3 months ago. I was really skeptical with buying a water container for more than 30 bucks but Its been the best investment I've ever bought. It's pricey but its so worth it, as a mailman I work under the sun all day and I need a water jug to keep it cold. This by far the most efficient water bottle I've had. It's lifetime warranty so anything is anything is wrong with it of defects. Shoot an email to hydroflask company and they'll replace the item. Bough few more for me and my girl so when we go somewhere we don't need to buy cold drinks. We can just refill with ice and water. Saves you from spending pricey water on the store. Thanks REI Kearny Mesa for assisting me with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST bottle I've had this bottle in rugged desert terrain, high mountains, and everything in between - IT. IS. THE BEST. It kept ice in my water for 24 hours in 110deg heat, bouncing around an offered vehicle. It kept my mocha hot in -10deg for 8 hours. I've never seen a water bottle this good - it's also pretty light weight and tough. It's taken drops and dings on sharp rocks and the seal has held. There's still some work to be done on the flip up straw lid (rubber can get a little chewed up), but the bottle itself is second to none. Must buy for anyone looking to keep a drink cold/hot in extreme weather during extreme activities!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hydro flask has saved my life! I have a rare disease that requires me to stay very hydrated, otherwise I pass out/ get dizzy spells. This water bottle has become essential to my daily life routine. I used to not drink anything because I did not like the funny taste water bottles left behind or the luke warm temperature they were kept at but my Hydro Flask does the opposite! It keeps my water ice cold all day, I put 10 ice cubes in the 40 oz bottle and refill it 3 times a day with semi chilled water. It keeps coffee hot in the winter as well! It is very durable, I dropped it out of my truck the other day and a small dent appeared. You can barely even see it. I love it so much and am so thankful to have it every day I drink from it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Keeps my water cold in the Hawaii sun! I bought this a while back and I am quite please with the performance! I live in Hawaii and I work in the hot sun all day and my water is super cold! The only problem I faced is that I noticed rust inside of my flask which is quite unusual.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great product that doesn't hold up I own several Hydro Flask bottles and they are great at keeping beverages cold! However I am extremely disappointed with the durability of the 40 oz bottle. It can not support it's own weight even when dropped from 2' onto carpet. Hydro Flask does not warranty any products when dropped so unless you plan on babying this thing around like a carton of eggs, I would look for a smaller Hydro Flask or another brand. I have a another brand of insulated 40 oz bottle that is much more durable and equals the ice retention of the Hydro Flask.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In Love! #bestbottleever My husband bought this for me as a gift. First thought...what am I going to do with a 'flask'? I had no idea what this product was. I am in love! This is the best thing ever! Keeps my water ice cold forever! The ice remains for days...literally. Plus, it doesn't sweat, which is a huge deal. Definitely buying some as Christmas gifts so others can share the joy of owning one! :) Love the pink color and even better with a monogram, of course!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase I use the 40 ounce bottles to keep me hydrated on long hot days fighting fire in the mountains and restoring natural areas in the humid Midwest. These bottles keep my drinks cold even when I don't have access to ice. A cold drink is so refreshing and helps deal with heat related threats to health. I like the stainless steel finish because it is so easy to keep clean in my dirty work environment. These water bottles take a lot of abuse and I've been very pleased with how well they perform. My children use the smaller bottles for their water at school. Keeps water cold all day and they like the convenience of the straw lids.

Is this top the same size as the nalgene wide-mouth screw top? For water filtration attachments, etc.?

Asked by: ldenised
I have a MSR MiniWorks EX filter, and this screws on to the bottom just fine. On their website, they say that this one is a "standard" wide-mouth - and this must be what they mean. Additionally, I broke a cap (they're sending me a new one) and in the meantime, I's using an old cap from a Nalgene bottle, and while it's not insulated, it IS totally watertight, and appears to fit as if it was made to.

Does the little plastic handle break easily? It seems like a cheep idea and I would rather have the top like the one on the 24 oz. bottle.

Asked by: CamelGirl
The handle on the vacuum bottle is made from a very durable rubber. We have not heard of any complaints about the handle breaking.

The details state it may not be completely leakproof when used with carbonated beverages, and to keep it upright. If it is filled with non-carbonated beverages (e.g. water) would you still caution that it is not completely leakproof?

Asked by: Huska03
This bottle is leak proof when used with other beverages like water.

Do either the 32 or 40 oz bottles fit in a standard cup holder? I currently use a 32oz Nalgene, which does not fit in my cup holders and is not insulated, and I'm looking to upgrade. Thanks!

Asked by: therealamyb
Both the 32 and 40 ounce Wide-Mouth Vacuum Bottle have the same outside diameter as a 32 ounce Nalgene wide-mouth. The vacuum bottles will not fit inside your cup holder.

I received a wide mouth 40oz bottle to use for my summer job as a flagger on road construction. Do they make a handle that will fit that size bottle?

Asked by: arlol
At this time, we do not sell any handles that will fit a 40 oz Hydro Flask.

Is the stainless steel one also sweat free? And if it doesn't drop but gets slammed into the rock when climbing, rendering it less insulated, is the warranty still void?

Asked by: empk
Yes, all these bottle are sweat free.
