Rated 4 out of 5 by from My first ever bib shorts - not bad! I wear nothing but the Terry Bella shorts, because I love the leg bands - and so as soon as the bibs came out, I had to try them. I now own two pair, and will buy more for an upcoming tour. Pros: 1. No more muffin top! All my jerseys look awesome with these shorts. It's like getting a whole new wardrobe. 2. Less lower back pain - no elastic waist band digging into my lower back 3. Women specific - easy to take off without removing my jersey. 4. No sagging = fewer saddle sores. Easier to wash and dry by hand on a tour because I no longer need an arsenal of bag balm, butt butter, etc. This keeps the fabric new longer, since I'm not using as many petroleum products. 5. Stitching is very strong and durable. Fabric is tough. After many wears/washing, shows no signs of damage or stretching. I am very pleased. 6. Legs bands are extremely comfortable, stay in place, and are long enough to be modest. Great for women with larger hips, legs and thighs who want modesty, compression and sun coverage - without the horrible sausage look. I wear a size 16/XL in general, and a size L in these shorts. The XL was too big. 7. Padding is just right - not too much, not too little. Pairs very well in size and shape with the Terry saddles. Good for long distance touring. Cons: 1. Price. But, not unusually high for bib shorts. 2. Neck strap causes some mild soreness after 50+ miles. Not a big problem. 3. White fabric peeks through on the lower back. I wish the netting was black, or that the black shorts had a higher rise. It makes it look like my "underwear" is showing on the bike. Not very flattering. Hopefully later models will fix this. 4. Some people may get a rash from this style of leg band. I get a little red rash on super hot days and long miles. It's worth it for me, because these are the only pain-free leg bands I can stand after 70 miles in the saddle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wanted to love these I really wanted to love these bib shorts. I have been waiting and waiting to purchase them while on sale, so this was my chance. I am so very disappointed in the quality of the product. I have several pairs of Terry Shorts, so I assumed that the quality of these bibs would be the same. The material that the shorts are made of feels super flimsy and cheap. The leg bands with the grippers are far too small for anyone that wears an XL. I could have gotten past both of those issues, but the mesh of the halter is where I really had an issue. It was so thin that I felt like one good tug on the fabric while I was hurrying to get these up after a bathroom break would end in ripping a hole in the mesh.

Questions & Answers

How do you take them off without "removing your jersey"? You still have to take your arms out of your jersey (leaving your jersey around your neck) to take down the halter suspenders, right? There is no snap or zipper anywhere, is there? Thanks!

You are able to lift the halter over your head and pull it through your jersey, so you do not have to remove it.
